Grinnell College poll has Biden approval at 34%

Poll approved.

Your reading skills need work.

The reason is in the post you cited. If you look at the graphic, clear to the left, you will find Selzer and Co. alone in the top tier. No pollster is perfect but Ann Selzer is like a .400 hitter in baseball.

Pollsters also have herd tendencies and Selzer has taken a lead. Expect others to follow.

Since that poll.... 7 polls on RCP have him above 40 with two at 45.
Since that poll.... 23 polls on 538 with 20 of them 40 or above and 7 at 45 or higher.

That's not quite correct.

For example, there are only two polls at RCP that began after the Grinnell poll was published. Some lag time is expected, especially since it may require reconstruction of the whole poll. More likely it would influence the layout of the next one.

It should go without saying--but apparently not in this forum--that there is a difference between influence and control. Would you be able to tell if other pollsters took actions that shaved a point or two off their results?

Sure, we should always look at averages. From this morning:

Of course, we could/should, we could/should do lots of things, but that has nothing to do with my response to Jay59 which was about his saying we could " expect others to follow" which so far doesn't seem to be the case........but hang on to that 34 if it makes you happy.
