Greenland’s Melting Ice Nears a ‘Tipping Point,’

Re: Greenland’s Melting Ice Nears a ‘Tipping Point,’

Not really. There is some action in the US. However, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany, and a host of other countries are taking a lot more action on a per capita basis. Even China is currently installing more renewable capacity than the US. The US really needs to improve it's green transportation. We have among the highest BTU used per miles traveled in the world. The US also needs to improve it's heating methodology. Technology exists to use very little fossil fuel energy for heating. We are not building those types of homes or buildings.
I was just talking GHG emissions. We are among the leaders in that area and have been for well over a decade. It's ironic that so many demand action then ignore progress when it comes.

BTW Texas is a leader in alternative power. This one is the largest wind farms in the world, but five of the top 10 are in Texas. They are very impressive to drive past.

Yes, and it is more economically understandable for them to, but they have gone too far.

Even China is currently installing more renewable capacity than the US.
And they are an emerging nation building power for the first time for many area. We would be replacing power already in place to keep up with them.

That is a sign of human prosperity. We like our SUV's, Camaro's, Mustangs, etc.

Why do you want to rob us of simple pleasures?

What's next of your list of human desires to squash?

It has to do with what is practical. We are not taxed as much on energy. The price point isn't there for using more expensive technology than we already use on a regular basis. Why do you wish to be like other nations? Why don't you just move.

Yes, we have reduced or CO2 per capita probably more than any other large nation.

Who is "robbing you of your simple pleasures"? Tree huggers exercising their political power over your overconsumption? You can drive a hummer, if your heart desires. Hell, you can drive a semi truck. All I'm saying is that it's economically unsustainable. If the US is producing less unit GDP per BTU, they are less efficient. Eventually the WASTE catches up...

Economically illiterate BS.
