Is it just me or is anyone else getting fed to the back teeth with this "small town americans rising up against the oppressive state" nonsense?
There’s just one element missing from these [Tea Party] snapshots of America’s ostensibly spontaneous and leaderless populist uprising: the sugar daddies who are bankrolling it, and have been doing so since well before the “death panel” warm-up acts of last summer.
- New York Times

they have a long history. It was Du Pont money behind the war that the fascist, corporatist American Liberty League waged against FDR and The New Deal, the ringing (and absurdly false) cry then the same as now: "SOCIALISM".

"Only the fat cats change " as Frank Rich of the Times puts it.

in the 60, it was the John Birch Society. There was a fella in those days that help fund the Birchers. He felt a lil guilty for having supported Stalin by creating a network of Oil Processing plants with all the newest American Tecnology. His name was Frank Koch. His sons are the fat cats behind the war against Obama, providing, either directly or through his corporatations and funded political action groups such as Americans For Prosperity who can be found behind virtually every rally. The AfP was created and receives most of its funding from... guess who?

and the agenda the TPers want.... does a grand job of preserving the billions Koch makes each year from despoiling the planet - a well documented claim, including a recent article in the New Yorker which has Koch's panties all in a knot. Good.

dupes who think it better to place their liberty in the hands of Daddy Warbucks, who is not responsible to them in any way, rather than democratically elected representatives. all those fiercely independent hard working americans who only want a fair chance... to suckle at the bellies of the rich and powerful. perhaps we call it the Teat Party.

Dude - you're about 18 months late and Pelosi already tried this and failed. Wake me when you have something relevant.

the tea party movement sure scares some people. apparently the ones who cheer more and more government confiscation of private wealth

beware the shearers....

again, some folks are comfortable sucking at the rich hoping that milk will turn to gold.

it won't. and it won't magically become 'freedom' either. you are a lot less free as a defacto indentured servant to these swine. but, yeah, it requires no great effort, no thought, no personal integrity and of course, no balls.

I am what you would call rich. Am I a swine? your posts sure ooze much envy

what causes this?

I am what you would call rich.
how would you know what I call rich?
Am I a swine?
dunno you well enough to answer either way, your rhetorical stance as you represent it here certainly seems to support those whom i call swine; those who employ social policy towards their own benefit rather than that of the society.
your posts sure ooze much envy
if you detect something oozing, check yer ears.

i am envious of those who have more and better than i do. it is a normal trait. but you err if you conclude that great amounts of material wealth is central to what i consider to be "more and better".

you assume that my objections to immorality derive from my actual wish to be equally immoral? convenient, but not particularly rational. and if it is self-serving, i can understand how such thinking may make the immoral feel a little better about their own immoralities, but does not make the immoral, moral.

I am envious of people who are smarter... not a lot of those but there are those who have made much better use of the intelligence with which they have been gifted. i am envious of people who are kinder and more generous, more personable without being punks, less abrasive and better able to demonstrate their caring in their expressions of it.

materially, I love fast, cool, expensive cars but i would never own one because i consider it immoral to spend such amounts on luxuries when others have nothing to eat.

you, by the way, have no idea of how rich i may be and so no idea of how my thinking correlates to my material wealth... or lack of it.
