This guy asked his wife to send American soil, fertilizer and grass seed to him in Iraq.

His unit walks across it before every mission for good luck and to remind them why they are there.

Notice how he has to cut it with scissors? The things we take for advantage.

That little piece of grass is that man's way of connecting to the real world and reminds him that the hellhole he lives in isn't his home. All of troops need to have some connection to their real world. I'm sure you have photos or mementoes from your past, why would you be disdainful of someone in a war zone having his?

Ah, I guess I wouldn't know that because I don't own a lawn but if I did I think I'd prefer MiracleGro

I know I was being sarcastic. He actually probably has it to remind him he's fighting to protect American soil.

Sarcastic? No what you’re being is retarded. Answer me this Mr. Communist che.
Just what the hell don’t you get about cleaning our own mess up? But no you bitch about murder, murder and why don’t we save the world. The evil USA won’t save the world.
Just what the hell do you think will happen if we pulled out of Iraq right now?
How many of those people Iraqi people you care sooooo much about will be murdered?

It was a very good idea...hell just to be able to smell grass in that sandbox.

BTW, has anyone notcied that the date on the picture is 2000? Just a weird observation.

That can't be the date... or it would say November 33rd, 2000 :/

I was a little disappointed. It wasn't the "grass" I expected to see. Nothing to see here Galen. Wrong war, that was Vietnam.

I think that was a great idea on his part. Were scissors the best thing he could find? The only thing that would make it better is if they made it into a putting green. That's what Hawkeye Pierce would have done.

Well, I have heard your plea but the best I can come up with is Afghani Grass... here ya go. Here's some eye candy for ya!

I'm pretty sure he's doing this in his free time.

Surely you can recall having free time at work.

I think this is pretty cool.

That's exactly what I was thinking! This title is a little misleading.
