Rockstar's games are super high quality and their games are immense in both size and scope. All their stuff is well worth the wait and worth every penny you pay for it.
GTA V came out in 2014. Given it's phenomenal success, it's no wonder they would sit on GTA VI while V is still raking in money. Not to mention, how do you top GTA V? The developers needed a lot of time to figure that out. Hopefully, they will succeed.

Forget carjacking. I want to hijak AF-1. Or a space shuttle
This is true. Expectations are undoubtedly very high.
On the plus side, I'm full ADHD obsessed with Rust, and have been for a couple years now, so while I'm looking forward to playing it, I'm not mad about the wait. Even if I get sick of Rust, the obsession has resulted in a long queue of games that I haven't played yet but want to... hell, it's almost time to replay the GTA V story line.
It'll get there... you don't spend ten years on something just to flush it.
