Here we go again, more fear mongering to scare up support for another illegal military action. Something like unto a mushroom cloud over an American city. Although, the way the US has been with false flag events, maybe residents of Charleston Harbor should consider an extended vacation.

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (CBS Charlotte/AP) — South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham says he’s convinced that Syrian President Assad used chemical weapons on his own people.

Graham told reporters in Goose Creek on Tuesday that taking action against Syria in response to the situation is not a question of yes or no, but rather a question of bad or worse choices.

He says if there is no U.S. response, Iran will not believe America’s resolve to block Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Graham also says those nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorists could result in a bomb coming to Charleston Harbor.

Great logic. If Obama decides to use "dreamy" enforcement of federal immigration and marijuana laws then that will increase espionage, hate crime and tax cheating since respect for federal law enforcement has been diminished. Deciding not to attack a foreign nation for doing bad thing A means that another foreign nation will then be encouraged to do bad thing B. Got it.

Why isn't he pushing Obama to attack Iran instead of Syria if he is really concerned about that?

Lindsay Graham is a blithering idiot. He and John McCain are like a bad marionette act.

God this is so true. He looks and acts like that plantation owner in The Heat of the Night, pampering his orchids and barely containing his absurd sense of southern entitlement.

If you like MILF porn, I guess.

Re: Graham: Nukes in hands of terrorists could result in bombs coming to Charleston H

There are a variety of ways terrorists could sneak a nuke into the country, this is not news. It's been a concern for some time.

Charleston would be a strategic target, because of the ballistic missile nuke sub base there. However, there are likely many other targets of greater value.

However, sneaking one in on a cargo ship would be one of the easiest ways.

If they could have, they would have. It's not like al Qaeda is trying to lull us into a false sense of security over the past dozen years. Big metal radioactive objects are relative easy to detect if you're looking for them.

but a nuclear bomb is not a simple device to make, and i don't think many terrorist organizations have access to specialists in nuclear technology

To be clear, I'm not with Graham on this. I live in SC, and there is a group of us trying to pry him out of that Senate seat.

I don't think what is going on in Syria is necessarily connected, as he is implying... other than if we DO bomb Syria someone might try to retaliate, and the Iranians probably have or will have nukes soon.

Personally I think we have a better chance of being left alone if we leave this Syrian civil war alone.

Yes, if AQ coulda done it to this point, they would have. However, that doesn't mean they will never be able to, necessarily. Just sayin'.

In and of themselves, not so much no. This is one of the concerns about Iran, however.

Well, here's hoping what you "think" is true!

but aren't the members of al-qeada and iran opposing sects of the same religion?

or in other words they hate each other?

EXACTLY. Something Ron Paul has correctly pointed out about US foreign policy in the ME only forever.

It seems to work for the Chinese. They are isolationists regarding anything related to humanity, with the exception of beating the USA at its own game of business acumen.

Ever heard this Arab proverb? "I and my brother against my cousin; I and my cousin against the outsider."

They hate each other a lot... but they hate us more. Now Iranians are considered Persians, not Arab, but they are Muslim and so not as bad as infidels, and definitely not as bad as the infidel Great Satan (what they call the US).

We had a chance of being left alone, before Obama promised to light up Syria and failed to carry it out. At this point, he's sending an engraved invitation to the bad guys.

In point of fact, an appearance of weakness draws terrorists like flies to ****. Bin Laden was inspired by our failure in Mogadishu...

Behind Savannah and possibly New York, we also probably have the busiest commercial port on the Eastern Seaboard. Needless to say, there are a lot of reasons why Charleston would make for an inviting strategic target.

I doubt that such a thing will ever happen (or, at the very least, I sincerely hope that it doesn't), but to deny that it is a possibility would be foolish.

Between earthquakes and hurricanes, it's not like we don't already have more than our fair share of things to worry about down here anyway.
