Government Starts Arms Collection in W. Kordofan

Khartoum - Sudanese government began to collect weapons from the parties of the tribal conflict, which broke out recently among Hamar tribe in West Kordofan, where 37 people were killed from both sides.
Representative of the Presidency, Faisal Ibrahim said, in a press statement yesterday following his visit to West Kordofan, that the arms will be collected from the two sides within 72 hours as maximum, pointing out that an investigation had begun into the events that took place in Al-Nuhud Locality, and led to the deaths of dozens from both parties last Tuesday.
Ibrahim stressed the need to extend the prestige of the state and the rule of law in the maintenance of security and stability in the area, praising the significant role played by the state security committee in containing the crisis.
For his part, Governor of West Kordofan, Abu Al-Qasim Al-Amin praised efforts by the Sudanese presidency and its interest in the maintenance of security and stability in the country, stressing the stability of the security situation in all localities of the state
