Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said emphatically Wednesday that he does not plan to vote for Donald Trump, his party’s presumptive — and divisive — presidential nominee.Although the first-term governor has repeatedly said he does not support Trump, he had never before stated whether he would vote for him in the general election.
During a visit to Prince George’s County on Wednesday, Hogan answered the question directly.
“No, I don’t plan to,” Hogan said when asked whether he would cast a ballot for Trump. “I guess when I get behind the curtain I’ll have to figure it out. Maybe write someone in. I’m not sure.”

Is the wave slowly starting to form? The wave of elected Republican officials openly coming out and saying they will not be voting for Trump? It seems like every week more and more start coming out and saying they cant stand behind Trump and will not vote for him.
But, yea... Here is another one Gov Larry Hogan, a Christie supporter, saying he will not vote for Trump.

Maybe. It would be political suicide for GOP politicians in otherwise liberal Northeastern states to say otherwise, however.

Those are the states where Trump dominated. He won 54% of the vote in Maryland, and took every single delegate.

Someone that prefers even a seemingly corrupt Democrat with a light weight vision of foreign affairs and a spooky track record to Trump isn't totally bad.

Those are the states where Trump dominated. He won 54% of the vote in Maryland, and took every single delegate.

Those are also the states where the GOP membership is extremely small compared to the Democratic party membership - hence the need for any statewide elected office holder to at least attempt to conform with their constituency, which would by necessity include Democrats.

For instance, in Maryland there were (as of May, 2016) 2,108,964 registered Democrats and 1,004,083 Republicans. Since Trump garnered 54% of the vote (applying that percentage across the entire registered number) that would mean that Trump received the equivalent of 543,205 votes in a general election (presuming that no Democrats would vote for Trump, which may not be accurate) which means that to the governor, would potentially alienate what equates to 17% of the general electorate (the equivalent percentage of 543,205 votes overall) and potentially ingratiate himself to the remaining 83%. That makes his announcement a political "no-brainer" as far as trying to remain electable in his own state.

Never be surprised when a politician acts like a politician, nor should we attribute motivations beyond basic politics to any action taken by a politician - of either party.

I'm confused. Which one is the corrupt democrat with a lightweight vision of foreign affairs and a spooky track record?

I'm just a little private citizen, and not a governor of a somewhat important state. But I've been a Republican pretty much my entire adult life, and I won't vote for that crook either. Good for Hogan. I hope more of them come out and say this.

From everything I see there should be a swell of support for the Libertarian presidential candidate. it seems the perfect solution. VOTE JOHNSON/WELD for president, then vote for whatever congressional candidates make sense.
