Gov. Gavin Newsom easily survives California recall election, AP projects

Californians wisely decided that they didn't want a Donald Trump clone-candidate - conservative talk show host Larry Elder - to be their Governor.

Elder is typical GOP crazy - denies the existence of systemic racism, opposes gun control and abortion rights, wants to abolish the minimum wage and pledged to overturn COVID-19 mask and vaccine requirements in schools and elsewhere.
Not only did he survive, but he kicked GOP ass. The recall blew up in the Republicans faces, CA voters have spoken in a FAIR election.

Declining in what way?
Gas costs a dollar a gallon more. State taxes of 13%. Sales tax of 10%. Roads left unrepaired. Water drying up because of whacko environmentalists not allowing dams to be built with money the state got in a bind measure. The forests were not cleared resulting in big brush fires. Homeless all over. Illegal aliens crawling all over the place. Masks demanded ad not working, Goverh=nor eats $500.00 a plate meals unmasked with those who give him money under the table. Schools are a cesspool of failing students dumbed down to appease minorities.

Is this not enough?

Their base isn't big enough.
The problem (for them) is that they believe their base is big enough. Unfortunately, in some places it is big enough. Luckily it likely isn't enough places in most states. Which could be very good for Dems in Senate races, but also could be an issue in House races.

So much stupid in one post.

As of now, noon, 9/15/2021, the California Recall vote count stands at 64% for the governor and 36% against. How much of this apparent landslide is due to the candidacy of Mr. Lawrence Elder remains to be determined.

Regards, stay safe 'n well 'n remember the Big 5.

While Elder mirrors Trump in his dishonesty, he's far more reactionary than even Trump.

Gas is not a dollar more.
CA - $4.391
NV - $3.967
WA - $3.876
UT - $3.785

State tax is 12.3% for those single making over $599,013
State tax is 12.3% for married making over $1,198,025 or more
Where are you getting 13%?

Statewide sales tax is 7.75%.
Where are you getting 10%?

Name 1 state whose roads are all paved? Doesn't have homeless? Doesn't have illegals?

California had 8,746 cases last week
Florida had 23,930 new cases
Texas had 24,281 new cases

Which state(s) are banning masking?

Proof that school are a cesspool of failing students?
Please with the ****ing raking of forest floors. The ****ing idiot who proposed that never picked up a rake in his life.

Sounds like CA is doing well. 5th largest GDP in the world.

Gas is a dollar more here than our immediate neighbor Ariona
State tax at 12.3% is close enough to 13% and higher than most other states
I never said all state's roads are paved so stop with the BS.
Homeless are all over California and others states aren't close to California.
Illegals here are ruining the state and our economy
Almost 20o businesses moved out last year.
UHauls are going one way.....out
California ranks 41 out of 50. Here is the link: https://wallethub.com/edu/e/states-with-the-best-schools/5335

California Defies Doom With No. 1 U.S. Economy

Sorest losers ever.

SAN FRANCISCO — Former president Donald Trump’s false voter fraud claims found new life in California’s biggest election this year.
The top Republican seeking to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in Tuesday’s recall declined before the election to say whether he could accept the results. A website affiliated with his campaign invites visitors to “sign a petition to stop the fraud of the California recall election.” And a previous version of the site — published before the election took place — blamed voter fraud for Newsom being “reinstated” as governor.

Well at least Elder was wise enough to concede.
Not like he had much choice but to concede. Hard to push election/voter fraud claims when losing by such a large margin of votes. The lawyers he had lined up to challenge likely said; 'uh uh....not touching this one... kinda fond of my California BAR license.'

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Good god. You really need to try harder. You pick one state? Why not Nevada? That's has a bigger neighboring border than Arizona.

You are cherry-picking at the upper bracket.
I never said all state's roads are paved so stop with the BS.
You said "road left unrepaired". Every state has that issue. Its not unique to CA.
Homeless are all over California and others states aren't close to California.
Wrong again.

No they aren't.

Businesses move all the time. Its not an indication that a state is "going down the tubes".

People move all the time.

You claimed "Schools are a cesspool of failing students dumbed down to appease minorities."

I didn't see proof in your link that CA schools have a lot of failing students dumbed down to appease minorities.

Well at least Elder was wise enough to concede.
All the nutjob lawyers are in trouble because of their blatantly ridiculous Kraken lawsuits, so he probably didn't have anyone to file a case for him.

Sure, because you only believe what you wanna believe and don't live here so you don't know diddly squat about Calif.

WaPo??? LOL

Go figure it would be your GOTO source.

The GQP base is good in enough small states to give them a huge advantage in the Senate. That gives them an edge despite their smaller size.

Most of those states though already know their Senators are safe. In other states though, states that are "purple", there is a much lesser advantage when it comes to the Senate. If you have states like mine, where the Governor is a Democrat, there is a big chance that the Senators can also be Democrats (at least one) or that the fights for the Senate are going to be close.

I honestly think the only reason Tillis is still a Senator is because Cunningham had that stupid affair that came to light, not because of this state being red (it is purple, thanks to places like Charlotte and the Triangle). This shows that Dems definitely need to be very stringent in their vetting process of their nominees. Get it all out on the table rather than hiding anything that could be bad. Unfortunately, those things do matter to voters, enough to make a difference.
