This guy fails at everything. From his border stance bravado, to his Mexican truckers blockade/inspections, to this immigrant bussing as well as his twice failed private grid that he's fleecing the taxpayers to fix.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s election-year scheme to bus migrants to Washington has driven itself into a ditch.
“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed,” Abbott said, “… Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants, who have been dropped off by the Biden administration, to Washington, D.C. … where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people they are allowing to come across our border.”
In a cruel twist, Texas then refused to tell the federal government, D.C. authorities or nonprofits when the buses would arrive — the better to inflict maximum suffering on the most vulnerable by forcing them to wander, lost and penniless, in a strange city.
The stunt is part of a fortune in Texas taxpayer money that Abbott is spending for the benefit of his gubernatorial reelection campaign and potential presidential bid. He had to rescind his vehicle inspection plan after it caused massive backups, inflicted billions of dollars in trade losses and resulted in not a single drug arrest. His positioning of the Texas National Guard on the border has, tragically, turned deadly.
Now the busing plan is proving to be a bust. At this writing, only 11 mostly empty buses (they can hold up to 45 but have arrived with as few as nine migrants and average fewer than 18) have made it from Texas, immigration advocates report. Two more half-full buses departed Texas for D.C. on Monday. Of the 195 migrants who have arrived, 85 percent quickly moved on to other destinations, often to meet family; they were merely hitching a free ride at Texas taxpayers’ expense.

It is an opinion piece behind a pay wall, regardless the whole stunt by Abbott was about perception... not really doing something meaningful.

However obvious the stupidity of Abbott's bussing debacle, it may have no effect on his gov race against Beto.

What I have found out is the old adage, “Not in my Backyard,” applies. As long as illegal immigrants aren’t placed in one’s “Backyard,” they’re all for illegal immigrations. I understand Abbott’s intent. Disagree with his methods, but moving illegals out of his backyard into someone else’s, could make some of those who support illegal immigration to change their minds.

It boils down to those who live on or near the border, want illegals stopped. Those who live further away, don’t. That using generalities, but for the most part it’s true. Trump carried 6 heavily Hispanic counties on the Texas/Mexico border. He received 41% of the total Hispanic vote in Texas. Nationwide Trump received 32%. The further away from the border, New York for example, Trump received but 22% of the Hispanic vote. Interesting enough in New Mexico, Trump received 38% of the Hispanic vote and 37% in Arizona driven by Hispanics living on the border. “Not in my backyard,” certainly applies.

It’ll be interesting to see how Hispanics vote in this year’s midterms in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Will they continue their 2020 trend toward the GOP or not? The Democrats were shocked in 2020, is another shock around the corner?

The border is being flooded by funding of this lying garbage.

MIAMI — The nation’s first Spanish-language conservative network launches Tuesday morning on satellite radio, opening a new front in the political information wars targeting Latinos in the United States and beyond.
Americano’s founder and CEO, Ivan Garcia-Hidalgo, bristled at the notion that the privately funded network is going to purvey disinformation or misinformation, and accused Democrats of trying to cancel speech they don’t like.

If I was a migrant, I would be thrilled to get a free ride away from the most hateful state toward migrants. Everything Abott does is ridiculous.

Texans deserve this jackass if they keep voting for him.

I agree, perception. Are these smart folks too stupid to realize they are only pandering to the craziest of the gop's crazies? These kinds of actions may fire up the trumpster republicans but that's it, the rest of us are asking WTF are you doing at my expense? Hatred and cruelty, right out of the book of trump.

For the umpteenth time, THEY ARE NOT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Good god.

I've been around for a long time. I seen them called illegal aliens, then the more political correct illegal immigrants. Now the going thing for those entering this country illegally, is to be call just plain old migrants. Migrants don't enter this country illegally, they have work visa's or at least should.

They're called illegal aliens by lying far right politicians and shameless talking heads to sucker fools like you. They're here legally

Not one of them went throught the proper visa process. They just walk across or swim across the Rio Grande. How many went to an American Embassy and began the proper paper work? How many went through the required backgroundcheck, how many paid the fees? Etc. etc. They just come across expecting the welcoming mat and all that goes with it. Not a single one of them showed up with a passport and visa.

I have no problem with these clearly non-illegal immigrants living in my backyard and, in fact, would easily prefer them to the hateful, psychotic Republican citizens we're saddled with.

he gave some people a free ride to a stopover before their final destination.

Simply not true. Every immigrant bussed by Abbott went through the process and was here legally.
They just walk across or swim across the Rio Grande.
Bullshit.

They're here legally. Do we need to get a cult deprogramming specialist for you?

Show me their passport and visa that authorizes them to be here. If they don't have both, then they're not.

They have a right to due process under the Constitution to determine their legal status. If they are here illegally, they would be returned to their country of origin. If the ones you keep falsely calling illegals were illegal, they'd be returned. But they are/were in the hands of TX and/or the US govt and were not returned. Do you understand the legal distinction? Please advise.

Bus tickets are cheap and that's 195 fewer people for Texas to take care of - just as YOUR "cruel twist" points out. The buses will catch on as summer nears, then BLM can take care of the illegal aliens in DC with the billions of dollars they have in donations. Oh wait, I forgot - BLM bought mansions with that money and the FBI seized them and auctioned them off.

And why in God's name would you think the truck inspections are failing? Within a month, that line of trucks in Mexico will stretch back into Mexico over 100 miles. Nothing will get through that border in a timely fashion. Stopping the trains is coming next. I think that every single train car entering Texas should be inspected. Those huge milk cars could contain spoiled milk. We can't let that through.

That is the GOP in a nutshell.

And you think this is a victory?
And why in God's name would you think the truck inspections are failing?
Because the "inspections" were to find drugs and people smuggling. It has found zero of either.

And you think stopping commerce is a victory?
I think that every single train car entering Texas should be inspected. Those huge milk cars could contain spoiled milk. We can't let that through.
What's the end game in your victory here?
