"Real Texans do not run from a fight. But that’s exactly what most of the Texas House Democrats just did," Gov. Greg Abbott said in response to Dems breaking quorum.

Fascist scumbag piece of shit in charge of the theocratic and fascist hellscape known as Texas, threatens to remove democratic politicians and prosecute them for not showing up and allowing the GOP in Texas to continue on with their gerrymandering bullshit in an attempt to rig Congress to keep the GOP in control.
 

Hmmm. Dems taking a page out of the Republican playbook. Playing hardball. Been posting about that all weekend...good for them.
 
Funny, isn't it, that gerrymandering Democrats out of 5 districts takes precedence in this special legislative session that was supposed to deal with the recent flash floods that took so many lives in the state a mere month ago.....

Yes. It's past time to stand up to GOP bullies and use similar "hardball" tactics.

It appears to be the only language today's Republican Party understands.

Sure looks as if Abbott and his fellow Lone Star Republicans aren't all that interested in "doing something" about the fact flash floods took so many lives in the Hill Country a mere month ago.

Wasn't this tragedy the reason the state legislature's special session was called?

Think about us if she was on the other foot and California was hurting to confiscate guns from all the people it's just picture the hypothetical Republicans know they don't have enough seats to win the vote but they have constituents to serve what should they do stand there nobody and lose their rights or fight with tooth and nail in the risk in prison and to make sure that that never happens I don't think the governor should have this power. I may not give a crap about gerrymandering but there's other places in the United States where they are fighting about things I do care about.

I guarantee you if West Virginia was trying to ban the teaching of religion any parent in a child is the Republicans walked out these people will be freaking out.
 
Maybe, but the question is whether or not it's "fascist" to have your job threatened for failing to go to work.

Okay I can't make heads or tails of this what the hell are you talking about? I was talking about the subject of this thread was about you seem to think that that's derailment so maybe you need to explain to me what you think I was talking about.

That's exactly how I describe the Democrats. So it's quite possibly that's the case for any political party cuz why wouldn't it be.
 
I'm rooting for the Texas Dems to block this, but nationally we continue our own gerrymandering efforts.

Yesterday's news shows that our runaway Democrats are responsible for hindering the special legislature's flood response work.

The special session continues for Texas lawmakers. Two of the biggest topics include the response to deadly floods that occurred in Central Texas on July 4 and redistricting to change the state's congressional maps. Getting to be where we can't believe the political rhetoric from either side.

I do wonder how the runaways will make this hide n seek turn out any different than the last three times they tried it. Abbott will keep calling special sessions, cut off the runaways' pay, and if they're found in the state, he'll have them detained and escorted to the capitol.
