What the GOP says today or why slaves in 1855 USA had it better.

1: work or we will cut off your food. (but you still dont get Healthcare, a home, cloths, or a shower or soap.

2: work or we will throw you away with not even food. (see you cant throw away a slave because you OWN a slave, your wasting $$$ then)

3: "This bill not only restores the integrity of this safety-net program, it will help beneficiaries become more self-sufficient," a memo from House Republican Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. "

Mr Kevin McCarthy, how are you self-sufficient when you cant even buy soap? or TP? And how do you afford a Apartment on a PT min wage job?

Slaves got a home
Slaves got food
Slaves got healthcare
Slaves got retraining
THe poor in USA get less than slaves.

Cut them all GOP.

We need devotees of the Gillotine...........bring us the millions we need for REAL CHANGE. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

I loved the sick GOP rhetoric about how cutting food stamps will be an incentive for lazy poor people to go back to work. So the GOP trashes the economy by deregulation, tax cuts for the rich, and two vanity wars, causing the highest unemployment since the Depression, and now they blame poor people for not having jobs.

This is why the GOP is doomed, if not by electoral defeat, then a couple million jobless unemployed hungry people taking up arms.

Obama has increased food stamp use over 50% since 2009. Dishonest people then try to claim a "war on the poor"when people say that it's not sustainable and frankly not good for the people living in dependency. It's the extremists, like the author of this post, who support a slavery system where people are dependent on whoever wins the next election and holds power.

Wait, usage of social safety nets increased during a recession? You don't say.

So if, no new policy and eligibility requirements were put in place by Mr. Obama,
the economy continues to scrape along and wages have been flat for the past decade;
therefore the increased SNAP usage is Mr. Obama's fault? Interesting.

Scared? Are you one of these sit-on-your-ass-all-day-and-collect-welfare people? If so, then I could totally see your fright. God knows, lazy people are just terrified of having to produce something themselves.

By the way...nice total fabrication. Should have gone with the "satanist" route, while you were at it. I mean...when you're just talking out your backside, the sky's the limit.

Why do so many conservatives make the assertion that if someone needs assistance it's because they are lazy and not trying hard enough. Statistically, this is inaccurate.

THe poor in USA get less than slaves.

You know what the big difference is between a slave and America's poor?

Slaves actually did some work.

If America's poor were willing to work as hard as a slave they wouldn't be poor for very long.

You know what the big difference is between a slave and America's poor?

1. Slaves were forced to work for very little compensation, if any.
2. Slave families were frequently ripped apart through no fault of their own.
3. Slaves were beaten, whipped, mutilated and sometimes murdered just for being black...or (later) being a Republican.
4. Slaves couldn't sit on their asses and wait for the government to feed them.
5. Slaves weren't free to walk into any store they wanted, vote or own property.
6. Slaves lived in constant fear of their children being sold like cattle.
7. Slaves couldn't attend school or get a loan.
8. Slaves HAD to work for their food and housing.
9. Slaves knew their predicament was wrong and looked for ways out.
10. Slaves fought their way OUT of being oppressed, controlled and manipulated by higher ups.

How do you know they aren't hardworking?

Some are - some aren't.

Some are hardworking, they just don't know how to manage money.
Some are hardworking, they just think they need every luxury everyone else has.
Some are hardworking, but other thing are more important that getting out of debt.

GOP war on the poor - Begging for revolution

It is an abomination that they are ending the food stamp program. If only they would leave in some money so that the truly needy would get the help they desperately need!

When did we start being cruel to those in need? And where did all the charities go?

Three million jobs that we lost increased the usage of foot stamps...not Obama..correlation does not mean causation!

if giving on average $200 average per person is such an outrageous money spent, which comes to about 42 billion. We can cut 52 billion for offshore subsidy ... that mean corporation get 52 billion annually to make profit out side of United states. That would give us 8 billion surplus without starving women and children. Or maybe tax hedge-fund mangers's profits back to 39% like everyone who actually makes leaving, that would only affect 0.02% but would save us $45 Billion annually! again 3 billion surplus without starving the children.

Bottom line is we go after the poorest and most helpless because these are the easiest targets. How brave and christian of the republican party (and 2 democrats) to kick hungry children in their teeth and rob their food....

The bill would not pass the senate but it is the thought that counts!

No, he didn't. The wreckage of the Bush economy did. Obama didn't change the law at all.

You can not truly be that ill informed. Can you? Do you actually believe that the poor are poor because they do not work hard enough?

Progressives, statists, liberals will say that is a GOOD thing.

Tea partiers would prefer poor kids just die on the street. Come on, admit it. It thrills you.
