GOP wants to increase defense spending while demanding even more cuts elsewhere

Sure he did. Right in the article cited it states that the Trump tax cuts reduced the amount of revenue that would have been brought in if they hadn't occurred.
That increased the deficit.
what revenue was reduced? Treasury doesn't show revenue being reduced but then again links and official data don't resonate with you
Sure you point out budget breakdown.
Doesn't matter the breakdown. What matters is the total expense.
Total expense only matters to leftists who believe that there is a unified budget, there isn't
Yep..fica was designed to fund ss and Medicare. And I'm the SAME MEDICARE LAW.. surplus fica is directed to be invested in special treasury securities.
It MEDICARE LAW you ridiculous dude.
What you want to ignore is that when money is borrowed from SS and Medicare, IT IS SPENT and that creates debt or future obligations
You have been proven wrong oh so many times.
So sad.
So sad is that you are so far off topic, totally ignorant of the budget and the taxes, have no clue as to state and local responsibility, a true liberal's dream supporter

1. Conservative..focus
In fact, the actual amount of revenue collected in FY2018 was significantly lower than the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) projection of FY2018 revenue made in January 2017—before the tax cuts were signed into law in December 2017. The shortfall was $275 billion, or 7.6% of revenues that were expected before the tax cuts took place. Given that the economy grew, and in the absence of another policy that could have caused a large revenue loss, the data imply that the TCJA substantially reduced revenues (Figure 1).
2. Wtf..are you serious? " total expense only matters to leftists"..
And you say you are conservative..????
How can you be fiscally responsible and ignore the total expense of government???
3. Whoa there buddy.. I brought that fact to your attention. Yes.. under Medicare law..when Medicare and social security run a surplus ..its turned into special treasury securities. And thus used to fund the rest of government.
4. Yeah. So sad. Cripes..you just said the total expense doesn't matter.
Sweet baby jesus.

Here's the fact, you are so off the op that you will never find your way back. Have no idea what your problem is speculating on what money the gov't would have gotten without the tax cuts as if that even matters, here is what matters, 900 billion dollars per year GDP Dollar growth, 2% inflation, almost 7 million new taxpayers created, over a trillion dollars in overseas cash repatriated, and I could go on but you are a complete waste of time, a true liberal who doesn't pay any attention to the official data presented and focuses purely in leftwing rhetoric and speculation.

Blah blah blah.
Same old bull from you.
" now it's...it doesn't matter what we would have gotten without tax cuts.

Right. That sure is being fiscally responsible...lol.
As bright as thinking..." total expense doesn't matter ".

Lmao
