GOP Vote Suppression Efforts Continue

Why not indeed? It's red-state governors and legislatures that keep the polling locations and hours limited. On purpose.

So can you prove the Democrat Governors have the problem well in hand with no problems and prove that republican states have such problems? I doubt it, but give it a try.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy unveiled a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s mail service, displacing the two top executives overseeing day-to-day operations, according to a reorganization memo released Friday. The shake-up came as congressional Democrats called for an investigation of DeJoy and the cost-cutting measures that have slowed mail delivery and ensnared ballots in recent primary elections.

Twenty-three postal executives were reassigned or displaced, the new organizational chart shows.

Trump says Postal Service needs money for mail-in voting, but he’ll keep blocking funding
President Trump says the U.S. Postal Service is incapable of facilitating mail-in voting because it cannot access the emergency funding he is blocking, and made clear that requests for additional aid were nonstarters in coronavirus relief negotiations.

Dems raise alarm over changes to Postal Service's election mail processing practices
House and Senate Democrats wrote to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on Wednesday, urging him not to issue new directives for handling election mail ahead of November's general election.

Ohio rules out extra ballot drop boxes for November election
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) announced Wednesday that the state is barring county boards of elections from offering more than one drop box for completed absentee ballots this November.

Day after day, the GOP makes the United States look more and more like a tin pot, third-world failed state.

Oh the gop has been making it extra hard on the post office for years

Polling shows that more democrats than republicans want to vote by mail in this election so it probably favors the democrats in this election. However, democrats believe that increased voter turnout favors them anyways since more Americans favor what would be considered left leaning policies.

If you understand what you said, good luck.

Citation please.

There are not any cases of voter suppression since the law stopped Democrats from doing it. Until when Democrats plan to mass mail to only Democrats. Do not think they plan to mail such ballots mass to the republicans.

You guys want me to believe you want more republicans to vote? Tell that to a believer.

Where do you come with these delusions? Mail in ballots can be mailed out to every registered voter. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Green Party, Socialist, Communist. Whatever you are you can get one. And there is absolutely no evidence mail in voting favors one party over another party. Basically when it's all said and done the difference between the Democratic party and the Republican Party is that Democrats want to make voting easier for everybody, whereas the Republicans want to make voting more difficult, not only for everybody, but for certains types of people in particular.

That's a baldfaced lie. The house has had a bill passed for months but McConnell refuses to being it to the floor. Shame on you.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2020/04/23/congress-coronavirus-small-business/

GOP Senate majority leader Mitch has dozens of stupid partisan House bills on his desk gathering dust.

The democratic House passes these bills without and debate with republicans simply because the dems have a majority and don't need the GOP to pass bills.

That is shameful and not fair.

Trump campaign doesn't like mail-in ballots.

Doesn't like drop-boxes either.

The Trump reelection campaign sued Pennsylvania state and county elections officials Monday, saying mail ballot drop boxes were unconstitutional in the way they were used in the June 2 primary election and asking a federal court to bar them in November.

It prefers in-person voting so it can reduce the number of polling places in strong Democratic areas, and intimidate voters there.

As Trump said himself this year, if you have higher “levels of voting … you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”

What Trump is discussing has never been done in America. Having the Congress force all who have addresses to get a ballot is brand new.

If I want to vote by mail, which I do, I had to ask CA for a mail to home ballot and here in Idaho I did the same thing.

So what is the problem with Democrats. If they want to vote by mail, send a request to their district.

Your racist remarks are dismissed by me as not true.

We can make it work if we work together. But the problem is Republicans and Trump supporters hate their political opponents and don't think they should be allowed to vote. Republicans want fewer people to vote. Republicans and Trump and Trump supporters DO NOT WANT mail-in voting to work. Republicans and Trump and Trump Supporters want mail in voting to fail. Republicans and Trump and Trump supporters do not value their political opponents enough as fellow citizens to do anything to make it easier for them to vote.

Here is the claim in the lawsuit. BTW, it is the campaign that sued PA.
“Defendants have sacrificed the sanctity of in-person voting at the altar of unmonitored mail-in voting and have exponentially enhanced the threat that fraudulent or otherwise ineligible ballots will be cast and counted in the forthcoming general election,” says the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania’s nightmare 2020 voting scenario — and how to prevent it

“We are definitely headed for this possibility, but it is not inevitable. It is something that we can — and have the responsibility to — avoid,” said Wendy R. Weiser, head of the Democracy Program at New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice. “It will be a meltdown. It will be a disaster. But we can change it. And it will be if our political leaders don’t take steps now.”

2020 election in Pennsylvania could be a nightmare if state doesn't act now

WHAT the hell? After 3.6 years of hate by Democrats lashed out on Trump, you say it is we that hate? We hate the way Democrats burn cities, disband cops, mismanage CV19 and more. But hate? That is not the republican way.

What would you say if it cost Democrats the election?

Like the rest of teh talk radio, fake news right wing, you’ve only very recently discovered fiscal responsibility.

It's a journey of rediscovery! It happens every time the GOP loses power... and BAM! deficit and spending once again matter.

Pennsylvania’s nightmare 2020 voting scenario — and how to prevent it

The Trump-nominated judge in the case has demanded that the Trump folks prove it:

A federal judge in Pennsylvania told the Trump campaign and the Republican Party that they must produce evidence they have of vote-by-mail fraud in the state by Friday.

The judge’s order, in a high-profile case about vote-by-mail in the battleground state, essentially forces the Trump campaign to try to back up President Donald Trump’s false claims about massive voter fraud in postal voting.

“The Court finds that instances of voter fraud are relevant to the claims and defenses in this case,” District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan wrote on Thursday, telling Republicans that they need to provide evidence of fraud to the Democratic Party and the Sierra Club, which are part of the lawsuit.

The Democrats had asked for information and documents that would show steps the Republicans took to study the possibility of fraud, especially related to the use of dropboxes, ballot collection and mailed-in ballots in the primary elections.

The Trump campaign and Republicans had refused to do so.

This should be amusing.

Some Republicans are beginning to think that blatantly suppressing voting maybe isn't such a good look:

House GOP leader says Congress will ‘make sure’ postal service is funded
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Friday that Republicans do not support withholding funding from the U.S. Postal Service and, in a break with Trump, urged voters to cast ballots by mail.

“The Postal Service will have the funding that it needs,” McCarthy said in an interview on CNBC. “We will make sure of that. We want to make sure we have an accurate election. I think any Republican that gets their ballot in the mail should vote and make sure their vote is counted.”

McCarthy noted that Trump on Thursday said he would not veto legislation that does contain the extra funding to support the Postal Service even as he rails against it.

They're on our side.

I just opened my request for an at home ballot from the state of GA. I will not send it in, nor will I deliver it to the drop box 12 miles away. The reason is my signature. I'm pretty sure I know what my signature on my voter registration looked like 13 year ago as it was pretty consistent. But now, due to certain medical conditions, I can't sign it the same twice. And that seems to be the greatest reason for disallowing ballots in GA and other states.
So I will be masked up and voting early, in person, to bring this train wreck to a stop.
