Another Trump backed candidate is a liar, go figure!!!

For years, Herschel Walker has told the same inspiring story: that he graduated in the top 1% of his class at the University of Georgia. He’s told the story, according to a review of his speeches by CNN’s KFile, during motivational speeches over the years and as recently as 2017. The only problem: it’s not true.
Walker, who is a candidate in the Republican primary race for US Senate in Georgia, acknowledged in December that he did not graduate from Georgia after the Atlanta-Journal Constitution first reported that the false claim was listed on his campaign website.
But a CNN KFile review found that Walker himself has been repeating the claim for years. Walker’s comments in 2017, and others made over the years, show the former football star repeatedly misrepresented his academic credentials.
“And all of sudden I started going to the library, getting books, standing in front of a mirror reading to myself,” Walker said in a 2017 motivational speech. “So that Herschel that all the kids said was retarded become valedictorian of his class. Graduated University of Georgia in the top 1% of his class.”
Walker also made the claim in another interview in 2017.
“I also was in the top 1% of my graduating class of college,” Walker told Sirius XM radio.
Walker did not graduate from Georgia, where he was a star running back after entering as a prized high school recruit. A profile of Walker from 1982 in the Christian-Science Monitor and an article in The New York Times said he maintained a B average at the school. Walker himself told The Chicago Tribune in 1985 he maintained a 3.0 before his grades dropped. He left to play professional football before graduating and, though having repeatedly said he was returning to obtain his degree, he never received a diploma.

All UGA grads breathe a sigh of relief.

I looked at his wiki a while back and it said he was valedictorian of his high school. And I thought "hmmm ...". I just checked again and the entry has been changed.

The good thing is lies surface eventually. I think both sides of the political coin lie, it's just what they lie about that's different.

With Marj Greene setting the bar on the lowest setting it can go, he might still make it in there despite.

Isn't he the football player that has multiple personalities and wrote a book about it?

Doesn't having a 3.0 GPA put you well up into the top 1% of the students at the University of Georgia?

Doesn't "I graduated from the University of Georgia" mean the same thing as "I went to the University of Georgia."?

And getting more than one "personality" as your elected representative while only having to pay one salary is a "Bad Thing"? Why?

Sure lies surface but I've noticed they don't seem to bother anyone in the gop as long as the liar is one of them.

That's because they have a warped sense of loyalty. It's not to their country, but to certain people in their country.

Walker has a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. That means he can write his own name and count to ten.

Not to mention the 1982 Heisman Trophy. Now way he'd lose an election in Georgia.

I love how someone who clearly demonstrates a reading comprehension issue throws shade at the intellectual capabilities of everyone who graduated from Georgia.

Read the first comment again. Walker DID not graduate from UGA.

A fraud, a liar, and a moron. No wonder he loves Trump.

I still laugh about him talking about CTR to the drooling retards at the Trump rally, and they were cheering and clapping like mad. They're all upset about CRT but they can't even get the acronym right.

Back in Herschel's day, UGA wasn't as known for their academic prowess.

The longer Walker stays at the top for the GOP nom, the better for Warnock’s chances. 👍

Apparently, you didn’t read OP’s entire opening post.

IF all of that is true it just puts him in line to be President. The number of lies Biden has told about his academic career are numerous.

It's been a while since I've lived in Georgia, though when my wife retires we plan to move back. Of course I still have family and friends in Georgia. It would surprise me to hear that anyone raised in Georgia has ever believed Hershel graduated from UGA. Damn near everyone knows or knew that Hershel's ambition was to work for the FBI. Of course, football soon changed his mind and bye bye FBI.

Hershel is a bright guy. However, it is difficult to be in the top 1% your class when you leave school a year before you graduate. It isn't surprising that he had a 3.0 when he left UGA for the NFL.

Hershel is arguably the best running back ever in college football. That is quite an accomplishment. Georgia is very proud of Hershel Walker.

I've always been a Hershel fan. I would not vote for him, however.
