I am genuinely curious to see if and when we see a split in the party between the far-right, Qanon, big lie, conspiracy types and the rest of the party. I do think the silence is deafening when it comes to them not calling out this type of behavior. Maybe they do but I haven't heard it.

I suspect he is correct and if an honest investigation were conducted, I suspect we'd find that the instigators of the riot weren't even Trump supporters.

Alas...we'll never know, will we? The people doing the investigations have no interest in conducting honest investigations. It's all political to them.

Amazing, how you left this out of your Cawthorn condemnation. Was this by design?

How does what he said below make him a "blatant liar, a Trump Nazi"? He condemned the worst of them.

The U.S. Capitol is secured 24 hours a day by U.S. Capitol Police. Only authorized people with appropriate identification are allowed access inside the U.S. Capitol. Restrictions around the U.S. Capitol include permanent and temporary security barriers and posts manned by U.S. Capitol Police. As the proceedings commenced, a large crowd gathered outside the U.S. Capitol. They were Trump supporters there to "Stop the Steal". These stupid morons bought into the fallacy that Trump actually won the election.
Now some of them have ruined their already pathetic lives sitting in jail.
Luckily McDonalds doesn't shy away from former convicts from working there.

What is your idea of an "honest investigation"?

Do you believe the investigation has been dishonest so far? If so, how?

imo, Cawthorn is partly correct.
For those who attended the rally and left afterwards and not to the Capital were most likely peaceful.
Some who attended the rally and went to the Capital but did not enter or rush the Capital were most likely peaceful.

Those who busted doors and windows, attached police, and end entered the Capital were not peaceful.
Granted, the ones who rushed the Capital and did damage were a much smaller number than those who attended the rally.

I do not agree with Cawthorn that those who entered the Capital were just wandering in and only wanted to address their concerns to Congress.
