I could only find two meaningless sense of the Congress votes in which he voted against what China would want. On meaningful votes, he ALWAYS votes with Communist China.

Of course, your being Taiwanese has nothing to do with your response? Of course, you have an agenda, which is like so many other agendas. Some nations want to be friends with the United States for only one reason - They want something from us, but what do they offer in return? Just more demands for more wants. On the other hand, where is your country when WE need YOU? How many troops did you send to Iraq in support of our policy there? How many troops did your country send to Afghanistan? Frankly, IMHO, your country sees us as a source for welfare, nothing more. We already had welfare reform at home. It is time for a little welfare reform abroad. To be blunt, we have no need for parasites.

Now lets look at Paul's no votes. They are according to policies which date back as far as the Federalist Papers, which dictate against foreign entanglements. His votes are consistent with those views.

On the other hand, let's take a look at the Bush administration, as well as that of Clinton. Under those 2 administrations, we have raked up trillions of dollars in debt. Who owns most of that debt? China, of course. You could say that China now owns a pretty good chunk of the United States. Bush and Clinton are China's 2 best friends in the entire world.

Meanwhile, Paul introduced a bill which would end US taxpayer subsidies for China. How is that supporting them?

FYI, I am American!

Taiwan had an alliance with the United States that the US abrogated in 1979 when Carter established relations with China. Taiwan was the only one of the four countries in the Western Pacific that signed a RECIPROCIAL defense agreement with the United States prior to Carter's betrayal. Japan, Korea, and the Philippines all signed one-way agreements. Taiwan offerred troops in Korea. The US declined. Taiwan needs to remain on alert. If you don't think being on the front line against the only major communist power left in the world, you have a serious case of osterich syndrome.

Taiwan didn't send troops (for obvious reasons - remember, it was the United States that broke off relations with Taiwan.) But, Taiwan did support the mission diplomatically. Taiwanese are also about as pro-American as they come.

Same response. BTW, Taiwan DOES send money to the United States during its disasters. Government aid was sent to New Orleans after Katrina. Aid was sent by Taiwanese NGOs and citizens when the Twin Towers were attacked.

Post World War II world is a far different thing that it was more than two centuries ago. Had the U.S. remained with that policy, the Soviets would have dominated Europe, the Chinese would have dominated East Asia. Southeast Asia would have become Communist. Central America would have fallen. What then? Absurd!

China is the threat. I am not defending either Clinton or Bush on this matter. However, Paul's votes regarding Taiwan and Human Rights in China are inexcusable lapses of judgement.

Sounds good. Why did he oppose monitoring their human rights then? Why doesn't he support Taiwan? Taiwan is a country that is regarded as one of the freest in Asia and completely respects religious and other freedoms? Were he to be more consistent in that arena, I might actually support him because I don't like the remaining cast of characters at the moment either (I voted Constitution Party last time around.)

Ron Paul is the real deal.

You can thank the tossing of the Political Editorial Rule in 2000 for the lack of coverage...

Peace

Have you heard Bill Mahr's comment?

He said, "With all this illegal wire-tapping going on, I email myself the US Constitution everyday on the slight chance the government might see it, open the file and read what it says!"
