GOP leaders, if you do not agree with us, we will punish you

This is the "we" that's going to punish them?

LMAO

The gqp base in the dumbshine state...

You libs do this sort of thing all the time. Hell, you boycott entire states for not going along with your kook fringe leftist agenda. You dox people, you ban people so quit your whining.
that is right, PEOPLE do that, not governors or governments. I hope you can understand the difference?

DeSantis in Florida seems to be leading the GOP pack in going after those companies who do not agree with them politically. He is going after Disney because Disney disagreed with his position on gays and transgenders. In the past this would have been politically suicide, but with the MAGA group, it is just fine. They say that these companies should not be involved in politics, but they seem fine with the Koch Brothers or even Musk who side with the GOP. It is one thing for a group of people to stop using a product of a company whose politics do not agree with theirs, this has been going on in both sides of the aisle, but to have politicians of either side too use their elected position to punish companies is unethical and maybe even illegal.

Yeah, this was really not a good look for the Florida Republicans. To anyone who thinks about it, it came across as revenge. No other way to put it.

If if your hyperbole is spot on, which it isn't....you are talking about individual citizens taking those actions. Not the government.

And we know the right never did anything like that. Just ask the NFL. And Keurig.

The loudmouthed, leftist kooks are pissed, but the majority of the state is with him. Those are the people he is elected to represent. And that is what he is doing.
Desantis better hope that the Disney workers agree with him, because if they vote against him, he will lose next election

After seei
No, the problem is that you only support democracy when people vote the way you want them to.
That is what is happening in the states controlled by the GOP, it would seem that they are the party that wants only their voters to get to vote. It is called voter suppression. Maybe you should watch something other than Fox News.

This is the attack on the First Amendment that conservatives imagine everything else is.

Actually, the companies are not 'involved in politics'. Not at all. Rather, DeSantis and others are politicizing issues; that's the problem! Think about it; they politized pandemic response! Amazing!

Plus, pretty dumb to take on one of the biggest draws of tourism into a tourism-dependent state.

How about the State of California banning their employees from taking a step in the State of Florida. Is that illegal?

iirc Disney was initially reluctant to make any concessions to gays but then reversed policy after widespread public pressure.

That's a lot of votes DeSantis is alienating. He could fall flat.

You're cheering for The Government punishing private actors for political speech.

You don't see how that's both bad, and entirely against "conservative" principles?
THey really weren't quite private actors where they?

They did not do that. A government employee in California can still travel to Florida on his own whenever he wants. He just can't do it as state funded travel.

Stop making things up.

DeSantis is playing this very smart. He knows he has a majority of Florida voters in his pocket. He knows he has the votes in the legislature. I will bet the farm that he's the 2024 GOP Presidential candidate.
You have a farm ??

Let's see how they feel when they have to start paying for the lost tax revenue.
Yeah, I cut off my nose to spit my face.....

I could care less which party is in power. Anytime the government uses its power to retaliate against a business, its abuse.

And nevertheless, to the extent Disney executives are "involved" in Reedy Creek, their comments regarding DeSantis' law is entirely unrelated to that "involvement."
Might be true. But it's equally true that it ain't too smart for one political entity to bad mouth the other political entity that holds it's purse strings (or other power).
