So much for an impartial impeachment "inquiry". Let's call this what it is: A taxpayer funded opposition research operation.

The hearing will be conducted by staff. The Republicans will get one staff member to question the witness.

This is far better than when Republicans were in control. They wouldn't let Dems speak and when one tried, the chair shut the mic and closed the meeting.
 

Elections have consequences. I remember hearing a particular group here making that proclamation.

Fine, but let's just be realistic and acknowledge that this impeachment "inquiry" is just partisan showboating. The GOP should respond by not giving a single yea vote in the event Pelosi actually holds an impeachment vote, which is NOT a given. Let this proceed as the partisan endeavor that it is.

Oh spare me. You do realize even republican senators were on board with what Biden did to get that prosecutor out.

It IS political. This is not partisan. Trump is unfit to serve, as his recent infantile outbursts and twitter meltdowns have proven.
 
After years of worthless and repetitive investigations, ignoring subpoenas and refusing to follow the rules and norms of congressional hearings and investigations, the Republicans are suddenly crying about an unfair playing field when Democrats get sick of sharing the ball with them. Priceless.

This is more Republican gaslighting. McCaul is the minority leader on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Engel is the Chair. Engel, as within his power as chair, deferred questioning to the Intelligence Committee which has been designated as the lead committee in the inquiry. So there's no reason for this letter.
