I was a hard boiled Republican from Eisenhower to Reagan. Never missed a vote in a national election. After voting for Reagan one time I saw the handwriting on the wall. Tax cuts for the wealthy, continuing to spend and accumulating massive debt. I went twenty years and didn't even vote. I was a Republican when they stood for balanced budgets, small government and individual liberty.

After the bull**** scheme they pulled on the middle class of America I wouldn't give them enough warm piss to take a pill. "Trickle Down" didn't work and it never will. Once those at the top get their hands on something forget it. The Republican mantra has become, "I've Got Mine Now By Gawd You Get Yours" They'll finally be satisfied when what used to be the middle class is working for the same as a Maylasian day laborer with no benefits. It couldn't be plainer if it was the nose on one's face.

I'm sorry, I don't know rates. I'm learning a lot here as well. If you ever have a question on the use of a word or how conversational it is, drop me a note

"The morality of abortion is not a religious belief, any more than the morality of slavery, apartheid, rape, larceny, murder or arson is a religious belief. These are norms of the natural law of mankind and can be legislated even in a completely religionless society."

I have a question. don't you think that it's a bit ironic that the Right wants to limit contraceptives for a woman, force her to have an unwanted child...then after that child goes bad when it realizes it was unwanted the person ends up getting the death penalty in a prison operated by big business? It just fails to compute in my logic.

the Right wants to limit contraceptives for a woman,

The 'Right' does not want to limit contraception to women. We merely believe everyone should not have to pay for it.

trickle down works very well.

you have better health care then the richest people had 30 years ago. That is an example of wealth trickling down.

the problem is people today are spoiled brats. that is precisely how your op stance sounds.

"Trickle Down" didn't work and it never will.

I continue to be fascinated by this belief. "Trickle down" is not an economic system nor is it a policy. It is nothing more than a description of how capitalism works. Investment money launches or grows a business. The business hires people and pays them. That money goes wherever - purchases, savings, taxes, charitable donations, or even entrepreneurship. Trickle down is simply the direction in which money flows. It doesn't work in the other direction because the investment funds have to start the process.

I'll tell you a story. A young couple who came from Vietnam as boat people moved to our community so that they could live with friends. They were penniless. The woman worked as a maid and the man worked washing dishes in a restaurant. After several years they had saved enough money to open a mobile egg roll stand. They both quit their jobs and started cooking and selling egg rolls. They were excellent egg rolls and their stand prospered. After many more years they had saved enough money to open a Vietnamese restaurant and have since opened two more. They employ about 40 people and now live in a $400,000 house. It took a while for those dishwashing wages to trickle down but in the hands of an entrepreneur they finally did. Trickle down is how things work.

I don't believe you were ever a conservative or Republican.

where did it every mention the Republicans want to limit contraception? unless you conceder abortion as a form of contraception you are so drunk on the Obama Koolaid you have lost all creditability
in case you don't know the majority of America are against abortion other then in a few exceptions so it is you who have a fridge belief not republicans so keep drinking the koolaid

what you described required work. and to liberals that is a dirty word. they expect others to do the work and hand them the fruits of that labor it is the liberal way

and communism/socialism works so well right?

Thank you for sharing this American success story. I remember when the first "boat people" came to my big-city hometown. They went from more than a dozen people sharing a one-bedroom unit in a "project" and picking up trash alongside the freeway to being restaurant owners and newspaper publishers and otherwise successful new lives and careers with great opportunities for their children. And they were crippled by one disadvantage most Americans don't have: They couldn't speak English.

That's when I began to lose sympathy for those Americans who will not work and don't try to make better lives for themselves. I'm not talking about those who need a hand up; I mean those who think they are entitled to a handout. You can begin as a maid or porter or dishwasher and work your way up.

The platform of 'The Right' sure wants to limit contraception, that few within the right don't doesn't make it onto the National Radar. For 'The Right' at least not having insurance plans include it is a fall back position at best. It would seem to me 'The Right' would much rather pay for contraception and abortions for the poor rather than support or deal with the children born into the cycle of dependency so harped on by 'The Right'.

Your giving 'Trickle Down' way too much credit, PROGRESS occurs no matter who is pissing on whom. It happens in Countries that limit the volume and frequency of piss. It happened before Reagan and in the so-called socialist Europe.

You sound like the eldest in a family chiding the younger siblings for complaining about only getting hand-me-downs to wear...

THAT sounds like a spoiled brat to me.... :2wave:

spoiled brats are those raised to be envious of the rich that as the op put it "got theirs"

they fail to understand the the rich that "got theirs", did so by providing a valuable good or service. wealth is the reward for contributing to society. spoiled brats don't understand that.

It is ironic that most on the right are both abortion opponents and supporters of the death penalty. I am not one such. BTW, being unwanted is not a guaranteed ticket to lethal injection.

Yep good by moderate asshats like McCain and Romney and hello bad ass libertarian leaning men with balls like Cruz and Paul. If we can get more like then where do I sign up to bring down the establishment?

Do you not see the glaring diffrence between the two?

and communism/socialism works so well right?

I do not think the original post indicates that at all, unless we were commies and socialists during Eisenhower, Nixon, or early Reagan years.

Do you think Republicans of that era compare to the Republicans today?

By the way....it is always funny that the welfare commie socialist state stuff always get pointed at individual citizens and not the corporate welfare queens.

Funny spoiled brats are used to getting everything they want AND not having to share. SOME rich provide a valuable service, some inherit, some by who they know, some by rigging the game. You can make no blanket statement on how 'noble' the rich are. There are plenty who get wealthy but don't contribute to the society, perhaps help other very wealthy get even more wealthy or keep more of their wealth. Derivative fund managers didn't help society, they helped it crash but of course they had 'contractually obligated' golden parachutes for themselves and their biggest clients.

Your trying to piss on me and calling it rain aintcha??? ;)

absolutes don't exist. so not all rich contribute. But the vast majority did. policy should reflect that. Yet the op has a negative view of the rich and how they "got theirs".

very ugly and spoiled attitude, which seems to be a common mantra of the modern left.

the vast majority did? You are going from absolutes to vague meaningless rhetoric... sort of like trickle down... ;)

The fact is progress occurs with or without pissing, even in countries that are not wed to super capitalism. it is difficult to name any 1st world or many 2nd world countries who don't have better healthcare than the richest did 30 years ago, even the 'socialist' one so loves to be hating Right Wing attacks every time healthcare comes up.

No Sir, I see the spoiled brat label fitting many in the GOP who got theirs, usually as part of an inheritance, claiming how hard they worked for it...

Spoiled is used to getting their way AND not having to share their toys... YOU are the one attempting to use the spoiled brat label... just funny who it really fits... :2wave:

Sounds like a good investment in the long run.

Birth control is cheap.

Unwanted pregnancies and the unwanted children that come from them are an expensive burden to the society as a whole, for a number of reasons.

But don't let me interfere with your plans to cut off all our noses to spite liberal faces.
