that is because -for most gun grabbers-the goal is disarming honest people, not criminals. Indeed, some of the more loony gun grabbers believe it is wrong for a criminal to be harmed. They blame society for people being forced into a "life of crime"

who do you blame for this? if the sheriff is telling the truth, its a tragedy but its hard to fault the homeowner. I blame the daughter

In this case it was the fault of the guy who was hiding in the house without the homeowners permission. You don't go into somebody else's house without their permission. He brought it upon himself.

My home defense plan is to stay my room, call the police, and have a firearm trained on the door. However, I don't intend to kill anyone. If I shoot, I shoot to stop the threat. If he dies, so be it, if he's wounded, so be it, or if he surrenders/runs, so be it.
