The rate varies between a high of 15.2% (it looks like), & a low of 11.3% (or so) - from 1990 to 2018. The poverty rate was going down in 2018, but I'm sure the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted that decay.

I don't know that anyone is happy with the number of abortions in the US. The trend is down, as noted, more than 50% down from the high point.

It would be much simpler to make sure people had birth control information & devices & medication, sufficient to prevent or encourage pregnancy, as they wish. We're not there in the US, for political & religious & ideological reasons that we see played out in any discussion of abortion & birth control.

But I do like your insinuation that I'm some kind of blood-hungry ghoul. Please keep up the fine work.
