That post was one of the most negetive posts I have read on this site. Why these Superpower moderators isn't banned people who post negative BS? Really CurrentAffair you could have kept that bs to yourself. Stop to think a minute many of your white artists copied after James Brown, and people of all colors was James Brown fans. Now I bet $10.000 to your $25.00 you are one of Boy George's fans.
James Brown music was around long before there was a Motown, and by me being born and raised here in Detroit I know. James Brown please please please came out in 1959. As a matter of fact James Brown first five hits was about how a woman made him feel.
Here is a Hey hey (Shout Out to Danarhea) Happy Holiday
Nice response to they guy who posted that ignorant statement. Now to really p!ss him off...........
What a lot of people don't know is that there wouldn't be
ANY "American" music if it wasn't for the influence of black culture.
1) Who wrote "Hound Dog"? No, it wasn't Elvis Presley, it was Big Mama Thornton. Elvis simply stole it.
2) Who made the Beatles famous by teaching them the "oooooo"? That was Little Richard.
3) Jazz? Without blacks there would be no jazz..... Period.
4) How about Country and Western? That is pretty white, right? Wrong. Any song that contains a tonic, and 4th, and a 5th, is a black invention. It started in the old Gospel songs in the South, where the "A" of Amen was a 4th, and the "men" of Amen was a tonic. Along came an enterprising black man who added a 5th, and bingo, the blues was born. And Country and Western is a direct decendent of the blues. Want to know what is so funny about the KKK? They wrote songs of hate, and of how white culture was supposed to be the only culture worth having. The irony is that the music they put their lyrics to was from black culture. LOL.
5) Today, songs by Kid Rock, Audioslave, the Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, and almost all other rock and Country and Western personalties and bands would simply not exist if it weren't for the influence of black culture.
Now some of you are probably wondering why a white man is posting this. Am I selling out my "whiteness"? Of course not. I am recognizing the "blackness" which, if music didn't have, we would not be watching the Grammy awards this year. So here is a big thank you to every black man and woman throughout history who created what we have today. America is truly a melting pot. It is not "white", "black", "brown", "red", "yellow", or even "green", or "purple". It is a rainbow, and I, for one, am glad that it is. How boring my existence would be if it weren't. To those who don't see it this way, it is your loss, not mine.
