I'm afraid they will go bonkers when it doesn't happen. I just hope we don't have one of them in the Oval Office with the nuclear football.
Are you seriously suggesting that a future President who is concerned with AGW would use a nuclear weapon if global warming didn't happen?

That is pretty much insane.

Unless you have some legitimate reasoning for a belief like that... Oh, what am I thinking? That is just stupid alarmism at a level never before seen.

Well, when the world doesn't end and we didn't listen to them... Faithful AGW religious fanatics might think it's their calling to end it. Just hope one like you isn't there.

So now you are calling me an AGW religious fanatic who would want to end the world if it CAGW doesn't happen??

Damn Lord... that just a ****ed up thing to say when I never actually advocate anything like that. I don't even push any warmist alarmism. Ever!! In fact, all I do around here is debunk denialist lies and misinformation like the kind we see coming from people like you.

You just hate me for constantly making you look ignorant over the last few years.

But you are a true believer of the AGW faith. No matter what evidence anybody presents that shows the science is not settled, you scoff and refuse to accept other ideas and facts.

That is religious like faith.

The faith says if we don't spend trillions upon trillions of dollars, we are doomed.

What else should I extrapolate?

Damn... what a load of BS!!

I jumped into this thread because you claimed that all the abnormally high temperatures are in urban areas only and that it wasn't related to AGW. Both just completely false statements. Statements born of your religious-like faith in constantly calling into question the science of AGW. And then you baselessly claim that UHI is the real cause for the warming trend which is just another outrageously false statement.

So don't sit there and pretend what you are saying is just "other ideas and facts" when it is not supported by any serious or legitimate science. It is really just your religious-like faith.

You need to face the facts, Lord... Most of your beliefs are born of willful ignorance. That is why almost all of your pet theories you regularly push around here are not supported by any legitimate or widely accepted scientific research.

[h=1]Why Worse Wildfires? Part 1[/h]What’s Natural? Guest post by Jim Steele There are several theories trying to explain the recent uptick in wildfires throughout the western USA. Some scientists blame increased human ignitions. Others suggest accumulating surface fuels due to a century of fire suppression. Others argue landscape changes and invasive grasses have amplified the amount of easily ignited…

I only said the only abnormally high temperatures were in urban areas, and I didn't give a cause or dispel one for that. You failed to quote that I mentioned droughts and fires also, which is what I meant by not being proven to be cause by AGW. So what. I misspoke. The Urban Heat Isand effect cause by land use changes is absolutely AGW, but at the same time, it's hard to keep up with what you guys consider AGW, because you are always only speaking on limiting greenhouse gasses.

I should have stated that none are proven to be caused by greenhouse gasses.

Again, I'm sorry for misspeaking. The way the left misuses words is rubbing off on me.

So don't sit there and pretend what you are saying is just "other ideas and facts" when it is not supported by any serious or legitimate science. It is really just your religious-like faith.
Every thing I say as fact is supported by legitimate science. I'm sorry that you don't comprehend science well enough.

You need to face the facts, Lord... Most of your beliefs are born of willful ignorance. That is why almost all of your pet theories you regularly push around here are not supported by any legitimate or widely accepted scientific research.
Your arrogance is noted.

We have had no droughts more severe than in the past. They are only worse, because we have more people using the same limited resources. Fires... Same thing. Cyclical events, that yes, we have a hand in, but by carelessly starting them too.

Obama bought a house on an island. Can't be too worried. He's been hanging with the little Swede from the Adam's Family while moving to the brink.
You'd think with all the dire predictions and hand wringing that there would be more preppers on the left instead of whiners.

As deniers getting more extreme you also sadly are seeing more and more nasty attacks from some deniers. There young people are getting spammed with pornography, hateful message and death threats just for using their democratic right to voice their opinion that the world's leading scientist should be listen to.

Young female climate activists face hateful abuse online. This is how they cope.

While a good thing is that the deniers are becoming a smaller and smaller minority and even fossil fuel companies and federal agencies under Trump have to acknowledge the urgent need for action.

As deniers are validated, climate activists are getting more extreme.

I find amusing that you quote Exxon/Mobile when you agree with them. That's classic.

[h=1]Climate Scientists Reduced to Hiding from Climate Thuggery in Germany[/h]From Townhall James Taylor Posted: Nov 22, 2019 12:24 PM More than 200 people, including dozens of scientists, are in hiding right now in Germany. I am one of them. I can tell you that I am in Munich, but I can’t tell you my hotel. I can tell you that the scientists will meet…

[h=1]Who Is Winning The Climate Wars?[/h]November 22, 2019/ Francis Menton
 • If you get most of your news passively by just reading what comes up in some kind of Facebook or Google feed or equivalent, you probably have the impression that the Climate Wars are over and the Climate Campaigners have swept the field of battle.
 • In my case, I certainly don’t rely on those kinds of toxic sources of information, but I do regularly monitor many of the media sources in the “mainstream” category — the New York Times, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, the Economist, Politico, and several of the television networks like CBS, ABC, NBC and CNN. All of those (and plenty more) have clearly put an absolute ban on any news or information that would cast even the slightest negative light on the proposition that there is an imminent “climate crisis” that must be solved by government transformation of the world economy.
 • I’ll give a couple of examples of the lengths to which this has gone. Back in September, mentally unstable Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg, whose only qualification was her ignorant passion for climate extremism, got the platform of the UN “Climate Action Summit” for a big speech.
 • Actually, out there in the world, reality continues to trump hysteria. Do you remember reports from a couple of years ago that China was ceasing to develop fossil fuel power and was becoming a “climate leader” by going all in for trendy renewables wind and solar? Well, that was to fool the dopes. Just this month, something called Global Energy Monitor is out with a new report on what’s going on on the ground in China. Bottom line: 148 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity under active construction or with construction being resumed after suspension. . . .

The deniers can't even agree on if it will be global cooling, global warming or something between.

"In an article for the Guardian, one of the researchers, Dana Nuccitelli points out another red flag with the climate-change-denying papers: “There is no cohesive, consistent alternative theory to human-caused global warming,” he writes. “Some blame global warming on the sun, others on orbital cycles of other planets, others on ocean cycles, and so on. There is a 97% expert consensus on a cohesive theory that’s overwhelmingly supported by the scientific evidence, but the 2–3% of papers that reject that consensus are all over the map, even contradicting each other.”"

The 3% of scientific papers that deny climate change are all flawed — Quartz

Also why I linked to Exxon and federal agencies under Donald Trump was to show that the evidence was so overwhelming that even they had to acknowledge the urgent need for action.

That fossil fuels companies spend hundreds of millions on delaying action on climate change. So they could have easily funded research to disprove the urgent need for action if they had been any contrary evidence.

Oil And Gas Giants Spend Millions Lobbying To Block Climate Change Policies [Infographic]

While Trumps wants to spend billions of dollars on propping up unprofitable coal plants so he too could easily have funded research to disprove the urgent need for action if they had been any contrary evidence. Instead you deniers can't show a single scientific report from his or Bush presidency that disprove the urgent need for action.

Urgent action is needed to combat manmade global warming.

"Not only is the planet undergoing one of the largest climate changes in the past 65 million years, Stanford climate scientists Noah Diffenbaugh and Chris Field report that it's on pace to occur at a rate 10 times faster than any change in that period. Without intervention, this extreme pace could lead to a 5-6 degree Celsius spike in annual temperatures by the end of the century."

Stanford scientists: Climate change on pace to occur 10 times faster than any change recorded in past 65 million years

The sad part is that many of the devastating effects of climate change and also many of costs now needed to combat manmad global warming could have been avoided if the warnings from the worlds's leading scientists had been heard in time.

The paper is a targeted review of scientific literature, they likely only targeted high scenarios!
The 5-6 degree Celsius range looks strangely like RCP8.5, which may not even be possible to attain.

Longview beat me to it. This is a bowl of cherries.

They use a typical tactic, picking only the worst case scenarios and slapping an alarmist title on it. What is worse, they do not have a clear cause, nor a solution with any assurance at all. Instead it's a call to run in circles screaming.

What a stupid link you posted, the obvious politically derived screams in are based on far into the future unverified models, avoids present reality that it isn't happening like that at all.

It is an obvious attempt to con many science illiterates into supporting draconian INCREASED government power to combat a non existent problem.

The amazing part is WHY are you so easily conned by government?

[h=2]Leading Meteorologist Slams Climate Alarmists As “Desperate and Scientifically Wrong”…PIK “Doomsday Prophets”[/h]By P Gosselin on 3. December 2019
High-profile Swiss meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann has penned a stinging commentary in the online Bayerischer Kurier concerning all the climate doomsday hysteria sweeping across Europe, and warns history tells us such hysteria has never turned out well.

Swiss meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann. Photo: Weather.Us
PIK’s “silly” science, doomsday prophets
The veteran meteorologist, who is convinced the planet is indeed warming due to man’s activities, worries that environmental groups have been getting away with falsehoods and how the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) is promoting “silly” science and “view themselves as the prophets of the imminent end of the world.”
One problem with all the über-alarmism, Kachelmann sees, is a tendency of people simply resigning because they’ve come to believe that nothing can be done to stop the coming doomsday, and so why bother trying.
He also sharply criticizes green activists who blame every extreme weather event on man-made climate change, writing that it is “desperate and scientifically completely wrong”.

Future scenarios as the present – bigger media bang!
One reason the activists have become so shrill, Kachelmann believes, is due in large part to the media’s willingness to run with every sensational story without an inkling of background checking.
“Since votes are to be won now, scientifically quite justifiable predictions for the future are quickly changed into the present, because there’s a bigger bang. The charlatans are certain that this mischief will spread through the media at a time when most German states have largely abolished science education.”
“Whoring for clicks”…”bull**** sells”
“The collective disinformation unscientists meet up with a sad media situation, where the successful whoring for clicks is more important than even the smallest quantities of respectability. Stupid clicks well, says Kachelmann. “But that doesn’t matter to “Focus”, “Merkur” or the “Süddeutsche” [publications]. It still gets written because bull**** sells.”
Woodstoves, not cars, are worst polluters
Another hot issue in Germany is fine particle pollution. Here Kachelmann also sees policymakers stampeding down the wrong solution path, and are falsely putting most of the blame on automobiles: “The exceedance of fine particles and other pollutants is almost exclusively due not to traffic, but to wood-burning stoves, which have recently multiplied in densely populated areas, because insane people claim that they are “ecological.”
Over the recent years the German government has been turning a blind eye to dirty wood-burning stoves – even supporting their use. Now towns and villages across Germany are filled with choking smoke from the supposedly climate-friendly burning of wood.
