Well for starters, the claim for that comes for Giuliani, so apologies if I don't readily accept that as fact.

But doing so is neither surprising or uncommon. Asking to see the proof that implicates you or someone you're representing in a criminal act is done to verify its authenticity. It could, for example, be a fake, or it could be a real hard drive that belonged to Hunter, but has been filled with fake data and files to incriminate him, or it could have been altered, in which case it needs to be studied for tampering.

You'd presumably want something done if I went around claiming I have a USB that contains proof you sold illegal narcotics. Letting someone go around making damaging claims about you is a generally bad strategy, and a way to counter-act that is to demand to see the proof.

The invoice for the repairs lists an external hard drive with a serial number. That serial number proves Hunter Biden could not possibly have owned the drive on the date of the alleged drop off. The drive had either not been manufactured yet or not been purchased yet. (Western Digital has a very helpful warranty look up page)

The invoice imaged in the story? I can't find that story, but I do remember seeing an invoice from the repair shop.... Could be it.
