The invoice for the repairs lists an external hard drive with a serial number. That serial number proves Hunter Biden could not possibly have owned the drive on the date of the alleged drop off. The drive had either not been manufactured yet or not been purchased yet. (Western Digital has a very helpful warranty look up page)

The shop was claiming to have stolen property belonging to his client. Why wouldn’t he ask for it back?

I'm curious... How did Hunter Biden's lawyer know less than an hour after the story was released, what repair shop had the hard drive? That information was not released in the NY Post story.

Also, if the computer was stolen by "Mr.X" and brought to the shop for repair, the shop owner wouldn't be able to legally give it to anyone except the person who contracted the work and signed the work order. Biden's lawyer wouldn't have attempted to retrieve it, and even if he did, when the shop owner refused he would have contacted local police about the shop being in possession of property stolen from his client. Did Biden's lawyer ever file such a complaint?

One last thing... Based on your post wouldn't you agree that the hard drive has to be legitimate, and not manufactured as part of a Russian disinformation campaign as so many on the left have asserted?

The external hard drive was manufactured after the date of the alleged drop off.

The external drive exists. Biden never owned it.

It’s an attempt to launder the real source of the data: probably an iCloud account breach.
 
I know this is a pipe dream but, in reality, I think it is time that we began giving some serious thought to devising a plan to digitally isolate Russia as much as possible.
Cut the fiber links that connect Russia's internet to the rest of the free world.
It is not that crazy an idea, because we've cut access to goods and services to warring nations in the past.
We cut access to petroleum in both Germany and Japan back in WW2.
If Russia needs to connect to the world, it will have to be via something other than fiber optic trunks owned and controlled by Western nations, and certainly trunks owned and controlled by the United States.
If Russia wishes to use this infrastructure to commit acts of war against the West, the West needs to consider eliminating their access.
