This guy is a class A jerk. He's obnoxious, rude and disrespectful and he should be charged( I read where he sexually assaulted few of the girls) BUT it's hard having sympathy for girls going around willingly flashing strangers or kissing each other to attract attn.

Lawyers for the women told U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak that Francis became enraged during the settlement talks, shouting obscenities at the lawyers and threatening to "bury them." Smoak ordered Francis to settle the case or go to jail for his behavior.

Negotiations continued with the help of a mediator, but broke down Thursday, and Smoak issued a contempt of court warrant.

Francis initially refused to surrender and called Smoak "a judge gone wild."

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta refused to let him remain free pending an appeal.

Torossian told the AP that Francis "surrendered on his own 100 percent." But U.S. Marshals spokesman Dominic Guadagnoli said marshals were monitoring the airport and were tipped to Francis' arrival.

"We were not aware that he would be flying in in the morning. He stepped off the jet, and he was immediately arrested," he said. "If he was coming to Panama City to turn himself in, he was a day late and a dollar short."

Francis had said Thursday he would settle the case to avoid jail time. "I'll give up a billion dollars, but it will be under duress," he said, arguing that any money given would be voided in an appeal.

Well I'm not so much on the surprised side.

If he sexaully assualted anyone why haven't charges been filed?

Now let me say, I think this is abhorant, that any young woman who lets herself be filmed for these films has made a mistake she may never live down. BUT THEY DO IT WILLINGLY. They are responsible for their own behaviors, if they do it in public and let someone film it what is their beef? What are they trying to settle for?

Basically they say they were taken advantage of b/c they didn't know it would be made public or into some sort of soft core porn videos. I can understand regretting it, but those are the facts of consequences.

Hopefully this will be a wake-up call to other wannabe you know what's. Young girls need to stop giving into sexual peer pressure...they'll only regret it. Case in point..

I am not sure, but I think some of the girls may have been 17 or something along those lines...Which if I were this Joe Francis, I would make sure there are strict guidelines in place for checking the IDs of these girls before filming them. Too much liability involved here....

Other than that, I got to hand it to him. He capitalized on something that already existed ( flashing, public nudity ) and made a crap ton of money off of it.

He should buy the town where her parents live, and fire anyone who speaks to them.

I hate to see people attack someone just to steal from them, which is all this is, and the rich don't fight back.

It's like McDonalds and that old bitch with the coffee burnt cooter. They should have given her the money, and then used the rest of their billions, to ruin her life. They should have bought up the paper on the homes of anyone she speaks to. Then raise rates and require more insurance till u get foreclosures. They should have bought the place where her children work, and fired them. They should have bought all the grocery stores in her hometown and closed them.

Is that you Joe Francis??

I may be wrong but I thought he was cleared of any charges relating to that, that they had shown ID's otherwise.

Absolutely.

Unfortunate but yes.

Anyone know exactly what it is that is being arbitrated?

I had the "pleasure" of meeting with the guys who run Bang Bros. They're an online porn company and I did a few sister websites for them about a year or two ago. We had our first meeting in Miami, then in NYC and finally in Toronto. They shoot in both locations but what hit me the most were some of the stories they told me while I was building the websites. Half of the internet porn business is filled with 18 year old girls. They go shoot in Toronto during the summer and they find 18 year old girls since filming with anybody under 21 in the States is illegal. Since it's perfectly legal in Canada some of these websites lie about the ages of their performers. They pay these girls very little money and make x40 x50 times the profit. It's genius but kinda scary.

On both points here, I really haven't followed it closely, so I couldn't say for sure.....

I am suprised he hasn't had more problems than this, and one other incident that they settled a while ago.....

How does the whole Girls Gone Wild thing work? They just go out and film random drunk chicks? Do the girls have to sign waivers allowing their image to be used? Is it legal for them to sign them when they're all drunk and what not? And is there a grace period for the girls to change their mind? Most contracts allow a certain time period for one party to back out. So are the girls allowed to sleep, sober up, and then realize they may not want to be in Girls Gone Wild after all?

Bang Bros. huh?? I bet they got stories....They do the "reality" porn right??

I went to a bachelorette party this year and one of my friends was flashing her boobs out the bus window to cars driving by. Anyway at a stoplight this guy held up his phone and she was like, "Look that dumba$$ wants my phone number!"

I turned to her and said, "No dumba$$ he just took your picture. You'll probably end up on the internet!"

Needless to say she kept her top down the rest of the night. She just wanted to have a good time in the moment, you know. She didn't want to end up memorialized that way on the internet. Girls really gotta be more careful these days.

Hmmm...scary yes...genious? no.

I wonder if these teens knew how much the producers(or porn makers...whatever ya wanna call them)make... compared to what they were making...wonder if they'd still pimp themselves out. There's a reason why they target the 18 and under crowd... sadly some of these young girls didn't have anybody teach them better. Oh well...maybe a life full of STD's and broken promises sounds good on paper.

They run BangBus and a few other websites yeah. I don't know if I can post a link here but just add a dot com to Bang Bus and you'll see for yourself.

They have a calendar of all the big parties that happen in the States(at least bang bros does) And they go there and find girls willing to do it. Also they put some of their adds online and go to strip clubs like Magic City and hire a lot of girls. Strippers will screw for the right amount. I don't really know how Girls Gone Wild works but I think what they do is what Bang Bros does they have a calendar of all the big parties that go on in the States and Canada every year. Burning man, Mardi Gras, Jump up etc etc and they go recruiting just like college scouts do. These guys are specialists when it comes to getting girls to screw for money. They have these shitty little consent contracts they make them sign and then make easily x40 the profit. It's around $300 for a single scene - $400 - $800 for girl-girl. $1000 for sex and around $1500 for a DP.

That was you?

I did think the "Jabba the Slut", and "Lay a princess" websites had a familiar look to them.

It they are in public view no wavier required.

Is it legal for them to sign them when they're all drunk and what not?

Don't get drunk in public places and do things you might regret later. Yes it is legal.

And is there a grace period for the girls to change their mind?

Nope not if they were in public.

Now if they take them out of public and film them, then a wavier comes into effect.

But a girl on Panama City beach dances and raises her top, anyone can take a picture and do anything they want with it.

That's why smart girls don't involve themselves in ANYTHING like that.

If you don't do the crime, you won't do the time. But if you do, what do you expect?

Federal Tax Rap for "Girls Gone Wild" Boss

IRS: Joe Francis caught in $20 million corporate evasion scheme

0411072inside1.jpg
APRIL 11-- Joe Francis, the "Girls Gone Wild" founder, was indicted today on federal tax evasion charges for illegally deducting more than $20 million in phony business expenses from his 2002 and 2003 corporate tax returns. According to a two count indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Reno, Nevada, Francis, 34, sought to conceal income through the use of offshore companies and nominees. At one point, he transferred $15 million from one offshore bank account to a California brokerage account in the name of a Cayman Islands corporation he controlled.
Federal Rap for "Girls Gone Wild" Boss - April 11, 2007

It never ceases to amaze me how people do something, legal, and make megabucks, plenty to just sit back and retire to the highlife without a worry, and then do something stupid like this. Like the series that showed big time casino schemes that ran on cable a while back. They would make a killing and just get greedy and then get caught.

Let's see I could have paid about $6 million in taxes on the $15 and still have $9 left. That's doable for me!

Ahh...the ol' Tax Evasion ploy. Government always seems to be able to pull that out at their leisure.

Either way this turns out, just stop with the Girls Gone Wild and go to pornotube.com (no prior experience)

They were all over the place in Puerto Vallarta. It was amazing what girls would do, not for money, not even for alcohol, but just for attention.

We as a society must begin to realize that in this age of information and technology, we are all potentially "on camera" all the time that we are in public (ie, not on our own private property).
It's a little frightening to me to see the way the paparazzi treats celebrities these days; I think the social state of things has led to- or at least contributed to- mental instability in a number of celebrities and high-profile people.
