So my friend sent me one of this guy's songs and I was absolutely hooked. I went out and downloaded the album and this stuff is absolutely incredible. Here's the quick summary:
Girl Talk is the stage name of Greg Gillis, an electronic music producer. He refuses to call himself a DJ, but what he does is take samples from various songs and create something completely new. Sounds unoriginal and uninteresting, right?
But unlike traditional mash-ups such as the Grey Album and other remixes that take two songs and mix their beats, Girl Talk takes 15 or 20 or 25 and puts them into each song. This guy is the master of taking Top 40 hits from the past 20 years and mixing them with soft rock radio standards, party classics, grunge masterpieces, and R&B singles to make the craziest beats imaginable.
To give you an example, ever wonder what it would be like to hear Public Enemy, Nirvana, Notorious BIG, Elton John, Fall Out Boy, and Beyonce all on the same track? Or how about Boston, Ludacris, The Verve, Oasis, Genesis, and Eminem?
His latest album, Night Ripper, was picked as one of the 25 Best Albums of 2006 by Rolling Stone, and his live shows are legendary.
Here's links to his record labels site where you can get two of the tracks from his new cd:

If anyone likes it and wants more, let me know and ill send the album.
Just thought I'd share.
