It's come to my attention that a lot of large corporations are going to stand in the way of getting Americans any meaningful stimulus, so I propose a way to align the interests of greedy corporations and ordinary Americans, so I propose the following....instead of getting $1,400 checks Americans will have the federal government buy the following for each American.

$300 Amazon Gift Card
$200 Costco Gift Card
$150 Whole Foods Gift Card
$100 iTunes Card
$25 off Total Purchase Game Stop Coupon (for the incels)
$200 Starbucks Gift Card
$100 Fresh Market Gift Card
$300 Voucher for Cash Back on Eco-Friendly Car Purchase
$100 Voucher that can be accepted at any non-fast food restaurant

Thoughts? Not a perfect plan, but in an oligarchy you have to play the game.

I'll be waiting at the mail box for these.

Don't think so. The only one of those I might use would be Amazon.

I get the feeling that I've been getting things like that in the mail for years. Who doesn't toss that stuff?

How are large corporations going to stand in the way of getting Americans meaningful stimulus?

Are you saying they control Congress and the President?

And why WOULD they stand in the way?

I just want the cash

I'm one of those guys who is going to pocket his check from Uncle Sam. I'll just use the gift cards for spending I was going to do anyway, and then still save $1,400 extra.

A Debit/Cash card makes more sense than a check because people would be more prone to spend the funds retail if they received it in card form instead of a lump-sum check or direct cash deposit. Where the funds are going would be easier to track and see just exactly if and where the $$$ are being spent.

Not really a good idea. Those cards can be easily illegally obtained, bringing major fraud involvement. Here's one case:

A smart design as this money will definitely go back to the economy.I would however eliminate Amazon. In its' place could be a local shoe store in which a purchase of 1-5 pairs
of shoes could be accomplished. Each of the cards could demand an ID written on the front.
