Talk about a load of leftist garbage. If this man dies, the family should sue TF out of the hospital administration. And the prosecutors should get them for no less than man slaughter.

When you get a transplant, your immune system is suppressed for a while. Vaccinating makes sense in that scenario.

Here are more facts, in this case it was a study on kidneys, but a transplant is a transplant:

A December 2020 study from France of more than 1,000 people hospitalized with COVID-19 found 18% of kidney transplant patients died, compared with 11% of nontransplant COVID-19 patients. In other studies looking not only at kidney transplant patients but other organs as well, this rate was between 20% and 30%.

Experts say it's important to be vaccinated before a transplant because the vaccine is less effective if administered after a transplant due to anti-rejection medications.

A lower percentage of post-transplant patients develop a "demonstrable antibody response" from the vaccine compared with the general population, Dr. David Klassen, chief medical officer of the United Network for Organ Sharing, a nonprofit that manages the nation's transplant waiting list, told USA TODAY.

Surgeons tend to skew republican, so if one of our two Alaskan bush people can be believed, then Republicans are somehow leftists and want control. Its just crazy town and an excuse to rant against his favorite imagined monster.

Heart transplants are expensive and donor hearts are hard to find. If the patient does not follow instructions to maximize the chances of success in such a high risk procedure and refuses to take an active role and take responsibility in their own care, the doctors are under no obligation to waste that heart on them.

They will do the same and refuse the surgery for someone who won’t stop smoking before a transplant. Is that wrong?

And it’s not tyranny because the patient is free to try to find, on the free market, another doctor or hospital who will do it. Good luck.

No, Fauci did no such thing. He didn't kiss Trump's ass, so now he is political in the sense that he's not part of the GQP.

Beyond that, Fauci has nothing to do with this patient. Stop chasing rabbits.

It doesn't but like the delta variant the republicans have turned it into a political issue. Seems the republican doctors on here like johnny dollar and glitch have more medical knowledge than the surgeons. I think they should do the procedure for the guy.
 
Actually...you seem to have missed it.

CDC under Joe Biden is now offering guidance that if you get COVID your period in isolation should be cut to 5 days from 10. That is a calculated risk since there is no guarantee that Omicron is the last variant and we can not be sure what the next variant will bring. But it is a calculated risk worth taking IMO as a means of getting back toward normalcy. This is what we actually expect of government....calculated risks taken in our behalf....not blather from the cheap seats......standard fair for Republicans these days.

But make no mistake, the roadblocks to normalcy are all virus related not rhetorical. We have many teachers out and sick with COVID, we have many airline pilots, stewards and stewardesses out and sick with COVID, many doctors and many nurses, fire fighters, policemen and on and on and on. So it is actually the virus itself which keeps changing and mutating that is having an impact on our ability to move faster toward normalcy.

While I am at it, its worth pointing out that the anti-COVID vaccine and the anti-mask crowd occupy the same spaces on the political spectrum. Those are two viewpoints that are diametrically opposed but adopted by the same group of lunkheads. It would be a major scientific breakthrough to find an active braincell in that crowd.

Look at what the medical staff at the hospital said: Getting vaccinated is vital to getting a transplant because the body's immune system shuts down and very vulnerable to germs and infections. It's pretty vital for the man get vaccinated, considering how dangerous the world is.

Transplant organs are scarce. They always give them to the person with the highest chance of surviving the longest. An immunocompromised transplant recipient who refuses a life saving vaccine isn't that person.
