Some Neo Nazis stormed the Reichstag the other day, trying to get to the Bundestag, the German parliament, the other day.

I'm not kidding.

Did you expect to see the rise of the Nazis in 2020?

Without having watched the video or looked this up, I'm going to take a wild guess and say that "Neo Nazis" did not, in fact, storm the German Parliament. I'll post again in a few minutes.

No, and I still haven't seen what you've described. The protest was aimed at Germany's coronavirus restrictions. Let's not forget also that the United States has been locked in protests for the past 4 months, and our protestors behave far worse than anything shown in the video you posted.

And I was right. No neo-nazis. The media lies again.

What do German Neo Nazi's look like?

I saw a lot of German Reich flags.

Demonstrators were bearing the flag used by the Reichsbürger (Reich Citizens) far-right group. Reichsbürgerbewegung ("Reich Citizens' Movement") or Reichsbürger ("Reich Citizens") is a label for several groups and individuals in Germany who reject the legitimacy of the modern German state.

An attempt to storm Germany's parliament building during protests against Covid-19 restrictions has been condemned by politicians across the political spectrum.

Demonstrators, many with far-right sympathies, broke through a cordon and ran up the steps of the parliament building before police dispersed them.

The interior minister said there should be "zero tolerance" for such behaviour.

Some 38,000 turned out for the wider, largely peaceful Berlin demonstration.

Demonstrators bearing the flag of former imperial Germany - used by the Reichsbürger (Reich Citizens) far-right group - overcame a handful of police to run to the entrance of the Reichstag Building in Berlin.

We don't have to wonder Moot, there's actual Neo-Nazis in Germany. The media tried to say that the Yellow Vest protestors in France were right wing extremists, probably Neo Nazi Putlers Sekret SS division.

This reminds me. Has anybody ever seen this?

It of course is a Hitler version of Cold Plays "When I Ruled the World".

When I first saw it I thought it was an interpretation of Hitler imagining if the Nazis had won World War Two and he had remade the world the way he wanted it.

But after watching it in great detail (especially the first part) is seems to indicate that rather than a murderous dictator, Hitler turns out to be known and adored primarily as a talented street painter and artist. Which accounts for the adoring crowds and people wanting pictures with him.

To me it gives the impression of Hitler fantasizing that the adoring crowds are there because of what he "accomplished" as leader of Nazi Germany rather than his accomplishments as a street painter and artist.

Ironically, Hitler is fantasizing about being a brutal and murderous dictator and failing to appreciate the fame and adoration he has actually gotten which of course dwarfs what he got in the real world.

That's the first time I've seen it...and it's just wrong. They're trying make a monster that killed over 6 million people seem more human. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.

I've always thought it a worthwhile question though:

If Adolf Hitler had not been directly responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of people would he still have been a "monster"? Is evil embodied ultimately by a persons actions or is it what is inherently in the human heart?

Encouraged by the success of Antifa and BLM, obviously. :coll:

Good for them. Imperial Germany was awesome.

The video is from the movie "Guess Who", in which Hitler wakes up outside his bunker today and is taken for a comedian. It was fairly entertaining, though the political overtones (people who oppose immigration are Nazis) were very obvious.

They're trying make a monster that killed over 6 million people seem more human.

You're a progressive, so you see Hitler in roughly the same way Christians see Satan. In fact, he was human, and not even the biggest mass killer of his time, much less all history.

You can't erase evil...but you can learn from it. So I think the lesson here should be "never forget" so that it doesn't happen again. I think the video was trying to make people forget. :(

Hitler thought so, too.

Actually, I'm not a progressive...and the youtube comments didn't think the video was funny at all. Some said it made them cry...but I just felt manipulated. I don't think Hitler should be remembered as an sympathetic nice guy...because he wasn't.

Anyway, I like Mel Brook's rendition of Hitler better....Springtime for Hitler...now that's some funny ****.

Hitler hated Imperial Germany. He saw imperial Germany as whore house, full of liberalism, foreigners and so on.

Imperial Germany in many aspects was the most open society of its time. Berlin was like Babylon. Evrything was art, music, science.

Hitler was very much at odds with the former emperor Wilhelm II and Wilhelm despised Hitler

Hitler hated Imperial Germany so much that he enlisted in the Imperial army...and hated Wilhelm II so much that he let him live peacefully in exile. Wilhem for his part, thought Hitler would bring back the monarchy and when he didn't...Wilhelm still congratulated him on his victory in France. But for the most part, I think Hitler just ignored Wilhelm and blamed the Jews for the German Reich's defeat because that was more to his political advantage. Also, Hitler named Nazi Germany the Third Reich in honor of and as a continuation of the German Reich. So he must not have hated it too much.

You dont get it right? Pre WW I hitler cant be compared to him after the war. Hitler hated the liberalism, the aristocracy that imperial Germany represented. Jews are honored german citizens in the empire.
