They have hardly been in office and are already the targets of breach of trust investigations. Over some old corona business. I am not sure what is the big deal. We are not even talking Hunter Biden salaries here. Just a pittance, 1,500 Euros of Covid relief. But the Greens pride themselves on probity. Maybe frugality as well LOL It appears the present Vizekanzler Robert Habeck and the Bundesminster des Auswartigen Annalena Baerbock, according to the rules of the frugal Greens, were only supposed to avail themselves of some 300 Euros in relief. So they helped themselves to a more respectable 1,500 Euros. The lower level Greens cried foul and raised a hue and cry. I say no big deal. This is no Hunter Biden salary. I mean, for a few hundreds of Euros Hunter Biden wont even stir from sleep.

That is how we are in this disastruous situation where our newly minted Green Frau is already in the thick of a scandal.

The Berlin public prosecutor’s office said Wednesday it has launched an embezzlement investigation into the entire leadership board of the German Green party, including Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, over special “corona” bonuses.
A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office spoke of an “initial suspicion of embezzlement” involving the national board of the Green party, which consists of six people, most prominently the party’s two co-leaders, Habeck — who also serves as the economy and climate protection minister — and Baerbock.
The probe does not relate to activities Habeck and Baerbock committed during their relatively young time as ministers, but rather to a controversial coronavirus-related bonus that the party’s board members awarded themselves in 2020. German news outlet Spiegel first reported about the investigation.

The voters issued their verdict at the polls on Sept. 26th and the result is the Greens are junior partner in the Traffic Light Coalition that is skeptical of Russia, to put it politely about Green policy toward Putin and Russia. With the Free Democrats sharing the same views of Russia as the Greens the Kremlin is shatting the bed at this point, especially with Ukraine and NS2 on the line.

It turned out in the flying Kremlin shit of the election campaign the sums of money involved are not regulated by the Green Party rules and regs so no laws or rules were violated. To be safe however Baerbock and Habeck returned the euro 1500 covid compensatory bonus the six member board voted for itself. The board voted a euro 300 corona bonus for the employees of the party's federal organization and that remains intact.

We see why in Germany elected members of the Bundestag are immune from bullshit charges cooked up by people such as Vladimir Putin and his down in the gutter sleazebag operators.

Putin and the Kremlin Mafia fear Baerbock more than any political figure in Europe because she threatens the Kremlin's State Capture of the Berlin political elites. SPD is historically in the Kremlin's pocket and now after 16 years of Merkel being Putin's BFF in Europe so is CDU.

Opposed to the Kremlin's State Capture of the two major political parties in Berlin are the rising Greens and the Free Democrats who became coalition partners with SPD because SPD managed only a miserly quarter of the electorate on Sept. 26th. The Greens meanwhile gained 6% with the electorate to finish immediately behind SPD and CDU while the Free Democrats once again proved their solid and enduring base of 13% to finish immediately behind the new upstart Greens.

Putin is seeing that Scholz and SPD can't withstand this pressure from inside Germany combined with pressures from outside Germany by NATO, EU, USA. CDU are sitting idle in the Bundestag due in a large part from going in the wrong direction toward Russia, ie, collapsing from 47% of the vote in 2013 to 24% of the vote on the past Sept. 26th. So Putin is shatting the bed worried about losing his Grand Prize of State Capture, Germany, beginning right at the critical time of Ukraine and NS2.

I am not sure where is the disconnect. The Green Frau does not disagree that she got 1,500 Euros. She has repaid that sum back to the Greens. And the Greens agree that amount was refunded. What has that go to do with Moscow?
