And that’s part of the problem. How many species has man been responsible for eradicating? Sport, land grabbing, industry, tourism…….et al.
We will get around to self-eradication before it is over, IMO.
We are mostly narrow sighted and money driven, IMO.And that’s part of the problem.
As we are trying to move away from fossil fuel reliance that has been responsible for so much global harm - wouldn’t it be intelligent to be investigating the new technologies that we hope to replace fossil fuels with?
If the goal is sustainability and environmentalism?
Because it seems as though we are not
Truck loads of spending for green energy. We are mostly narrow sighted and money driven, IMO.
But it can be. It is not as if the idea of wind farms is bad or cannot be done. It is as you say just a matter of careful planning.Unfortunately, it seems in our quest for green energy, we aren’t being very wise in the locations where we are looking to build windfarms.
And the environmental impacts of the windfarms - the impact of the mills on their local environment - isn’t adequately being assessed, evaluated and taken into consideration.
Fact: Monitoring of existing wind farms suggests that with sensitive siting adverse effect on bird populations can be minimized or avoided......The available evidence suggests that appropriately positioned wind farms do not pose a significant hazard for birds."....... for example, no bird deaths have been reported during the ten years of operation of the Brooklyn wind turbine and the Tararua wind farm has had approximately 10 reported bird deaths in five years. (1)......Even if bird mortality rates caused by wind turbines are lower than other anthropogenic sources and studies have shown that birds are able to habituate to the new environment, a well thought-out design of the sites may reduce the risks of bird fatalities. For example wind farm developers should avoid sites which lie across extremely frequented migratory routes, keep a good distance between the turbines and avoid structures which are attractive nesting places for birds.....With rigorous impact assessment and thorough monitoring wind power can be deployed without significant detriment to birds (and other wildlife).
Why Wind Turbines Threaten Endangered Species With Extinction
In many countries, wind turbines pose the single greatest threat to endangered bird and bat species.www.forbes.com
Yup, its not just whales and birds and bats, but insects too- like butterflies and bees, you know the ones who make honey and pollinate the plants and serve as prey for larger animals, all part of a chain that ecosystems need in order to thrive.
And this is just in Germany. There have been no studies in other countries as more wind farms pop up.
Why do neo-luddite climate cultists hate plants, animals, and humans so much? You'll have to ask them since their retarded religion makes no sense.
Yes. The proper planning can be done. But it can be. It is not as if the idea of wind farms is bad or cannot be done. It is as you say just a matter of careful planning.

Where has anyone made that claim? I surely haven’t.It's a good thing that fossil fuels haven't ever killed anything and never will.
It's a matter of impact. I truly doubt that windmills are going to hurt the planet in a way that is even comparable to the impact of the long term harvesting and burning of fossil fuels.Where has anyone made that claim? I surely haven’t.
But as we move forward with green energy, we have to take the time to consider what environmental impacts they have.
Otherwise we potentially resolve one crisis by starting another.
Why is it an either/or analysis? It's a matter of impact. I truly doubt that windmills are going to hurt the planet in a way that is even comparable to the impact of the long term harvesting and burning of fossil fuels.
Because transitioning away from fossil fuels, especially towards renewable energy sources, is a net benefit for the environment. Pretending otherwise is at best dishonest. Why is it an either/or analysis?
LOL textbook strawman fallacy. Fantastic. It's a good thing that fossil fuels haven't ever killed anything and never will.
LOL I just posted a scientific study that insects are being killed because of windmills, but you claim otherwise. Well hurry up and prove your side then. Oh wait, you dont have any proof, just more of your moronic religious beliefs that proves you hate science. Run along now. He's crusading for insect rights now, is he?
Ah. No. Just another debate board move that'd get laughed off a fourth grade playground, as always deployed in the vein of lol Imma push coal and mock alternative energy to own (troll) the libs.
Le Sigh.
Insects and many other species are facing mass extinctions right now. But it's not because of windmills. It's because of the kind of thing that @PoS stands to defend: the all out assault by humans on the environment in which they live, of which relentless fossil fuel extraction and use is a major part.
Ouch. Not only are they an important part of the food cain, but bees are necessary for pollination.

There is nothing "green" about wind power in my view. I'm all for solar, but trust me. Decades from now, there will be serious regrets pertaining to wind.Unfortunately, it seems in our quest for green energy, we aren’t being very wise in the locations where we are looking to build windfarms.
And the environmental impacts of the windfarms - the impact of the mills on their local environment - isn’t adequately being assessed, evaluated and taken into consideration.

I disagree with that. New coal technology and new gas technology is not very harmful, except to those who think increased CO2 is bad. As pointed out, no matter what we do, has an impact. Mass killing of insects and birds is rather troubling. Especially the endangered raptors.Because transitioning away from fossil fuels, especially towards renewable energy sources, is a net benefit for the environment. I'm aware of climate change denialist CT. You should get a doctorate in climate science. Then you can get told that CT is CT by a different group of people.I disagree with that. We haven't yet felt the financial impact of solar and wind, as they are so highly subsidized, it should be criminal. Those subsidies cannot last indefinitely, and I predict it will not be long before electricity prices more than double.
I just follow the science. No CT allowed.I'm aware of climate change denialist CT. You should get a doctorate in climate science. Then you can get told that CT is CT by a different group of people.
