Can you imagine if this descended into a battle royal with church bells clanging in opposition to the daily adhan, with satanists bellowing out an homage to Baphomet, followed by whatever the Flying Spaghetti Monster people saw fit to deploy?

Seems to me that eventually these competing god salesmen are going to have to take the high tech route.

I once lived in a village in Germany near a church that had its bell on an automatic ringer schedule to ring every 15 minutes, 24/7. All night long.

If you're using bells or speakers to loudly annoy other people with your religion, you're a ****ing asshole.

Well, they have competing days; Fridays for Muslims, Saturdays for Jews, and Sundays for Christians.

Far as I know, Jews don't ring massive bells or screech from towers, do they?
I could be wrong on this.

They are in the middle to keep the peace.

Yeah well, that hasn't worked out so well, has it?
I say eliminate ALL loud displays from any worship outfit and go to cellphone notifications.
Adhan works just as well functioning as a ringtone, and so do church bells.
If the Muslims want to screech on the weekends, then fine but on a daily basis five times a day?
They have to in turn be tolerant of boiled pasta being flung all over everything ten times a day.
May you be touched by his noodly appendage.

The character of centuries-old tradition in European towns and villages would miss the Sunday bells. Even an atheist like myself can appreciate the place of Sunday bells as a testament to human culture and tradition over the centuries.

The call to prayer had been banned after a Christian couple complained that it intruded on their religious freedoms. The court ruled that the call to prayer did not violate the rights of those who heard it.

I wonder if any Muslims had complained about all those Catholic bells every Sunday morning in Münster.

In Somalia I heard the prayer calls... Even though scratchy speakers it sounded haunting. But it never bothered me.

What complete idiots... not to mention racist religious zealots.

Hearing or seeing other religions does not violate one's own religious freedoms.
