George Will exits the Republican Party over Trump

Although it's possible, I very much doubt he will be voting for a Libertarian candidate. There are just some things that he holds close to his heart that are more or less deal breakers with Libertarians.
Intelligence doesn't seem to be one of the things Will holds close to his heart with his, I presume, abstention in the presidential that-is-as-good-as-voting-for-Hillary vote. Ideology is.

Austria la vista, baby for Austria's EU referendum...

Yeah. I saw a bunch of those about other Countries the day after the vote. Czechout, Departugal, Italeave, Finish, Slovakout, ... good stuff.

We are aware Hil LIAR y speaks volumes about your lack of values and morals ! :lamo

Yes because when I think of Donald Trump, I think of values and morals.

The values that led to the scamming of countless folks at Trump University. Never mind the countless shady business deals.

As to morals, this is the same guy that wants to bank his daughter.

What rubbish - Libtards keep making grand pronouncements on who's smart and who's an idiot, and yet again and again they keep getting proven how out of touch they are with the people - the latest Brexit vote is clear proof of that.

The UK is the UK, and no matter which part of it Trump chooses to visit, it's still the UK. Trump wasn't going out of his way to make Scotland into a podium, he was visiting Turnberry as part of his normal business activities. For Libtards who live in their parents' basement while collecting welfare, it may be hard for them to connect with an accomplished fellow going to check up on his assets in other countries, but Trump violated no protocol nor any convention. Plenty of presidential candidates have appeared before the media on foreign visit - remember Obama preening in Germany, trying to get in front of the Brandenburg Gate to pretend he was JFK whom his bootlickers were comparing him to? What a joke.

Libtards have the nerve to mock Trump on foreign policy knowledge, when their beloved idiot Obama went in front of the British people and told them they'd have to sit at the back of the bus, if they didn't vote to let EU take them over.

These are not my pronouncements.......but reported comments of a bi-partisan group of political observers, party and elected officials

Have you not seen that reported? Where do get your news from?

Trump turned what was to be his familiarity with foreign affairs in to a business promotion........and openly saying the loss in value of the pound was good for his business.........Forgive me..........but what a jerk

LOL.

George is free to do what his conscious moves him to do. But I think this is not as big a deal as you make it, or are trying to make it.

I think this is far more significant.

An interesting thought that. I think Hillary servers well as a mirror to the Democratic party in as much as her history of public (*cough* self-service) is riddled with corruption, pay to play, political favors paid out of the people's treasury, and a near constant conflicts of interest. I can think of no better mirror for the Democratic party.

Thanks for sharing your opinion

Oh. Is that why you're voting for Hillary? Her morals? How about her competence? Why are you voting for Hillary, if not for these items?

some times, it's really nice to be a Registered Libertarian...Gary Johnson looks like the best candidate in the country....

in any event, folks bringing up traditional Republicans leaving the party are missing the picture... the voters don't give a **** about the opinions of the conservative/Republican establishment....they long ago pissed off the voters and now they are butthurt they are being ignored or dismissed
sorry George Will... you helped make this bed.... if you want to atone for your sins, start pushing for a good candidate like Johnson...shoot to defeat both imbeciles in both major parties... they are both very bad for the country.

Pretty sick of watching people vote for who they think will piss off the other side more than help their own. This site is full of those kinds of folks.

From your mouth to God's ears........

Yeah, the Republicans can't keep going on like this or they will simply fade into another sort of version of Storm Front. The whole radical right-wing movement has peaked and turned conservative politics inside out. I can't see the 1% of the Republican party, with so much money invested, allowing this combative, obstructionist, hyper-nationalist, racist, militaristic Frankenstein to bring them down. The house of cards really started to burn when they put up Sarah Palin as serious candidate for vice president of the United States. Common sense folks like you and I have been predicting this for years, and now the chickens have come home to roost.

Couldn't 'a happened to a nicer bunch of guys.

Please explain the role Reagan played in creating Trump. Thanks.

He opened the door to the radical right-wing as serious players in American politics and the loaded the immigrant gun that shot a big whole in the middle class by watering down wages and benefits AND THEN granting immigrant (labor) amnesty in '86. The country was divided into a new paradigm of "entrepreneurship" because with the trades and manufacturing beginning to sink like the Titanic, "you may as well own your own company" - you can't work any place else and off Wall Street went to the races. The very first thing that Reagan did was drive the unemployment rate up to 10%: that is a fact, and you can easily verify that.

More and more radicals crept in and got more and more face time, with huge amounts of money pouring into that agenda and the rest is history.

Not s........the take over of the Republican party started as a goal of the John Birch Society in earnest in 1960......

I was there......and was trained as a campus organizer........

And not one of my better times of my life

"Every liberal is a fascist at heart." -Anon

George Will is a two-faced phony. To date, he's been successful hiding one of his faces with his toupee. The fascist has been unmasked.

Wait, you aren't actually saying that in support of Trump are you?

I was watching Fox News this AM before I left for work. According to Fox the Democrat party is more divided than the Republican party, pointing out the additions Sanders wants to the democratic platform. Someone please explain to me how Fox really believes this. I don't see Demo's leaving the party, I don't see Demo Congressmen and Senators saying they cant endorse Clinton. George Will is one of those people who I think pretty much speaks Republican, now he is leaving, but the Demo are more divided? At least Fox has quit saying fair and balanced.
Well as most lefties are eitehr idiot commie socialist stooges or sex predator criminal enablers does it matter what the DNC is doing or what Fox righteously states about that bunch of mostly losers, morons, anti-Americans?

I shockingly am considering wasting a vote on Johnson, this time it WONT be a waste it'll be a protest against the stupid people.

George Will exits the Republican Party over Trump

Conservative columnist George Will has left the Republican Party over its presumptive nomination of Donald Trump.

Will, who writes a column for The Washington Post, spoke about his decision Friday at an event for the Federalist Society in Washington.
“This is not my party,” he told the audience, the news site PJ Media first reported.
Speaking with The Post, Will said that he changed his voter registration from “Republican” to “unaffiliated” several weeks ago, the day after House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) endorsed Trump.
George Will says he's leaving GOP over Trump - CNNPolitics.com

For the majority of Republicans and Wills millions of readers………..this is a big deal……
I just wonder how many others will follow Will’s lead……

Will is a respected and award winning journalist. He is respected on both sides and I am not surprised at this decision.

Intelligence doesn't seem to be one of the things Will holds close to his heart with his, I presume, abstention in the presidential that-is-as-good-as-voting-for-Hillary vote. Ideology is.

I take solace that there are still men and women of conscience willing to not vote for Donald Trump.

You shouldn't believe everything thats "reported".

In President George W. Bush's second term, we saw a dramatic increase in the number of Independents in the USA. This is just the second wave of people that are embarrassed to state that they are a Republican.

They still vote Republican, because SCOTUS and stuff.
