he two countries reportedly inked a long-stalled agreement to build a massive new pipeline to send natural gas to China via Mongolia.

Following a meeting of Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in Beijing on Tuesday, Russia’s state-owned energy company Gazprom announced that a legally binding agreement had been signed for the construction the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline.

The pipeline, which will supply 50 billion cubic meters of gas annually from western Russia to northern China, is a project Moscow has long sought to push off the drawing board. Analysts have previously said it could offset nearly half of the gas exports to Europe that Russia has lost since the Ukraine war began.

The deal includes a 30 year supply agreement and the price of supplies will be lower than Europe is charged, Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller said, Russia’s TASS news agency reported.

As the US shows their weakness with Trump at the helm Russia and China will grow closer and China will expand it's influence in the world. Putin knows he can thumb his nose at the US and Trump with impunity.

Canada is now shipping LNG to China by sea from a west coast port. Trade patterns will change forever as a result of Trumps stupid tariffs.

Where was Trump, when this was going down?
He was creating more tariffs that drive people away from doing business with Americans in order to enrich the US federal government at the American people's expense.

That's pretty accurate.

Just to mention: Despite Trump's emphatic assertions, I have yet to hear of a tariff deal that's been culminated. In other words, signed by both parties & ratified by Congress.

LNG trade patterns shifted under BIden sanctions

Recent sanctions imposed under the Biden administration have significantly shifted global LNG trade patterns, largely by targeting Russia's energy sector and redirecting U.S. and other LNG supplies to Europe
. This has caused Russia to seek new markets, particularly in Asia, while Europe has increased its reliance on the U.S. and other sources. A temporary pause on U.S. LNG export permits also affects future market dynamics

Canada is selling LNG to China.....it has zero to do with Russia or sanctions

Nobody is more ****ed by this development than Europe.

No question that Trump's in-your-face tariffs and attempts to weaponize US trade is a factor - certainly a factor in India's thaw with China.

But it's bigger than just US v India/Russia/China. It's a "post-West" moment.

Europe doesnt appear to have any major vision that I can see. All options are bad. If the Ukraine war goes on for years the Eu sinks hundreds of billions into it. If the Ukraine war stops today Eu still sinks hundreds of billions in the coming years; given that it has all but committed itself to rebuilding Ukraine; building its army; integrating it into the Eu will the billions that it will take... Meanwhile it will still seek to compete in international trade with the US, China, and whatever is out there

Someone blew up the Nord Stream pipeline going into Europe from Russia. EU doesn't want Russian energy (even though they still buy it). Russia now pivots away from the West and toward Asia for reasons that other Asian powers can appreciate.

That's what is truly baffling. Its not like the Eu does not know it is buying Russian energy. It has been buying Russian energy through the likes of India. Plus its not like the Eu wants Russian energy out of the market; that will be catastrophic for prices; and the whole oil price cap thing is to keep Russian oil in the markets, to keep prices down, but without Russia benefiting. So, bottom line, Eu is buying Russian oil, just paying more for it!

To add to the crazy logic, Merz does not want Nord Stream ever to be turned back on; even though cheap commodities is a must if Germany is to revive, build Eu's biggest army, sink billions into the Ukraine war; and sink more billions into Ukraine reconstruction if and when the war is over

When European centrism fails, which it will, it will be a competition between the extreme right and left.

It's their war/continent. they can spend as much as they want buying US weapons and Russian energy
( there is a "roadmap" to phase out Russian energy by 2027 -dont bet on it)

I sincerely hope Trump puts his ego in check long enough not to get suckered into upholding the reconstruction pledges by Biden

do you recall the Nixon China card? Kissinger came up with a plan to engage China to separate it from close ties with the USSR.
Granted we screwed that up with allowing China into the WTO, but it did keep their military from permanent alliances.

Of course Russian sanctions along with Cold War 2 made the China card moot as well. What gets me is all the pearl clutching by the globalists who now are shocked with Enduring Friendship!

Who's going to pay to build it? Russia can't afford it for sure.

Now all Gazprom needs is refineries that aren't on fire.

it's already under construction..look it up if you need to know
I am sure the SBU will not do anything mean.
