Do we hear any Progressives wailing about the President's inability to control the increased costs of fuel? Things that make you go Hmm...

Hey, remember when high gas prices were all Bush’s fault?

It’s no surprise at all, but still worth a comment that the media have a double standard on the issue of gas prices, just as they do on the issue of civility and countless other issues. On “Your World with Neil Cavuto” yesterday, the Media Research Center’s Tim Graham outlined the differences between media coverage of high gas prices under George W. Bush and gas prices under Barack Obama. Bet you can guess which president received more leniency!

Prices have jumped to over $4.00/gal today on the East Coast. Is anyone blaming Obama? I don't think so... Although as the 'Hot Air post shows there's been nary a peep from the Progressive Left on this subject. Things that make you go hmm....
Was it just something more to complain about Bush then, but just par for the course under Obama?

I saw gas less than $3 late last week but it is a new station in a bad location gimic that won't last. think i paid $3.29 for 87 last fill up friday or saturday at BP

It was stupid to criticize President Bush. I think it was done because Bush was in the oil business. No president can control the price of gas.

Pete, I'm glad to read that someone from the Progressive Left has admitted that their Party and fellow travelers lied about and blaming President Bush was wrong. Should we hang your words from the side of the Empire State Building? Hmm... I wonder when did you come to this brilliant conclusion, was it then or now?

Let me set you straight, I'm liberal (an adjective) and I'm from Oregon. Please stop with the labels. I also said that those who said the prices were caused by Bush were wrong, I didn't say they lied. Do you know the difference between being wrong and lying? I don't remember when I came to the conclusion. What do you think influences the price of gasoline?

Here is an inactive map which you can use to find cheap gas. Just enter your zip code and zoom in.

Certain the prices you just quoted have not and are not seen in New York State, especially New York City since Obama was elected President. More like Pennsylvania, or North Carolina.

gas prices went up?.. hmmph.. a camel must have farted in the middle east or something...

Hold on there. There is just one way a President can increase oil prices, that is buying millions of barrels of oil on the open market when prices are already at all time highs. How soon we forget.

The Bush administration yesterday halted purchases of crude oil for the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve, reversing its policy on the emergency reserve three days after Congress voted overwhelmingly in favor of suspending the purchases to ease the upward pressure on oil prices.

The Energy Department announced that it would not sign contracts to buy up to 13 million barrels of crude that would have been delivered to the underground salt caverns on the Gulf of Mexico coast in Louisiana and Texas between July and December.

Just 17 days ago, President Bush had asserted the importance of continuing to pump oil into the reserve because of the risk of a terrorist attack on oil facilities. Regarding a halt in purchases, Bush said that "on a cost-benefit analysis, I don't think you get any benefits." He noted that the purchases for the emergency reserve represented less than 0.1 percent of world oil demand.

Oil experts, economists and lawmakers from both parties had argued that buying 76,000 barrels a day of crude oil for the reserve was needlessly adding to upward pressure on prices, especially for the high-quality, light crude used as a benchmark on the New York Mercantile Exchange. They also said that the reserve, which has 702.7 million barrels, or enough to replace U.S. oil imports for 52 days, was adequate for now.

Unless we drill baby drill!
