Gasland Part 2

George Osborne has just signed Britain up as the lowest-taxed area for frackers in the world. The race to the bottom has started.

The original movie focused on the early technology, which was dangerous and hap-hazard at best. The industry and the technology has gotten a hell of a lot better. Is it perfect? Of course not. Do we have a lot of alternatives? Not just no, but hell no. We're addicted to fossil fuels. And that... ain't gonna change for many, many decades.

Ought to be an interesting show to watch though.

So sorry to hear that. It's like a worldwide Love Canal.

.....And that's not all....

" Local communities are set to lose control over key environmental decisions affecting whether fracking can go ahead within their midst, it is claimed.

Campaigners opposing the industrial-scale exploitation of shale gas reserves in the British countryside said the Government has removed key democratic controls in its dash to bring unconventional energy resources on stream.

Under planning guidelines published last week, councils will no longer be able to investigate issues such as seismic activity, flaring and venting as well as the potential impact on ground water supplies before granting planning permission for new wells.

Instead the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive will take responsibility for regulation... "

Did you Earth people really think you could breed billions upon billions of humans and employ, transport and feed them without wrecking your planet? You ain't seen nothing yet. Give it about 50 more years and another 7 billion people and these will be your good old days.

100 years ago, all your water was clean. Now you buy your water in plastic bottles that will never vanish.

You haven't been keeping up with current trends in human thinking: Don't you know the homosexuals are threatening the human race with "imminent" extinction ?..........................................

Well let's hope they finish up off before the poisoning gets too bad.

Some of the main characters are now, or once were industry engineers. They all say that, yeah the tech is better, but the application isn't and time and stats are the enemy. The cement lings of the wells are vital. One crack, and there's never just one crack for long, is what they call well failure and it means the garbage is leaking in the water table, the aquifer. With our best tech 5% of the wells fail immediately, 50% over thirty years, and all fail eventually.

It's a pretty heinous sight and we get to see what's happenning on the ground, in the towns and farms and subdivisions. Water has to be shipped in for them to live.

Actually, gay couples have quite a few children. I've read (not confirmed) that there are about 6 million children (call Gaybys - I don't think that's derogatory) living in those households.

Don't worry. There is plenty of breeding going on. Plenty.

Overpopulation is the third rail in here, touch it at your own risk.

DOE study: Fracking chemicals didn't taint water

So once again, the enviro's have spun up the chicken little siren without any evidence to support their claims.

Why not come clean and be honest about the objective. You think there are too many people, and the overall population needs to get smaller so the world as you see it can be sustainable.

Greetings, ocean515. :2wave:

:agree: I wonder who will make the decision on who lives, and who doesn't, and what the criteria might be? Why does the old movie LOGANS RUN come to mind, where everyone over 30 was expendable? :scared:

Good morning Polgara:2wave:

Logans Run, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, among others.

Seriously, it seems rather clear what the overall objective is. Why not unwrap the unspoken, and explain who they plan to sacrifice in order for the world to be as they picture it?

I've had enough conversations with environmentalist liberal/progressives to know what they truely want to do, if they could get their way.

A preliminary study by a government that wants energy independence. How gullible are you?

I don't know about the whole population conspiracy, but I do know the DOE report is total bull****. It's doesn't even make sense. Water tainted with fracking chemicals is forced down the well at great pressure and volume. Some of the wells don't even have the minimum concrete casing and by the industry's own admission 5% of the wells fail immediately (their casings crack and the fracking chemicals and gas are not contained).

There's legal testimony, story after story where water studies are done on private wells before fracking (clean) and after fracking (NOT clean). These are not naturally occurring substances.

A preliminary study concluding fracking has not been harmful provided by a government agency under the Obama Administration that is hostile to anything that doesn't ring of Green Energy?

It's unnecessary to demonstrate how gullible you are.

Ok, so explain the preliminary results.

I'm willing to believe the DOE came to that unbiased conclusion in the Pennsylvania case but that's doesn't mean all the other cases will have or have come to the same conclusion.

Yes, there are too many people. The overall population needs to get smaller so the world as you see it can be sustainable. Fortunately, this won't be a problem for me personally.

Otherwise, there should be no objection to unlimited immigration. Put them to work fracking. That's what Jesus would do.
