Good luck in November, leftwingers. I hope that your doctrine to kill oil production in the US, will end up killing your party.

Yep.

Now wait for the people consumed by talking points they don’t understand to come in here with “leases”

As you know, the world price of oil (otherwise known as the Brent crude price) is currently about $110 per barrel, while the American price is about $97 per barrel. The threshold question then, is why would we want to export oil and raise American oil prices to match the world's oil price? Big Oil clearly wants to pad their record profits and fetch a higher price for their oil. But considering that the five largest publicly traded oil companies made $118 billion in profits last year, I think they are doing just fine. I believe we should be more worried about the bottom line for American families.

As our nation continues on the path to economic recovery, it is critical that we support working class families who are carefully budgeting every dollar. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, U.S. households are spending nearly $3,000 a year on gasoline[1]. Over the last ten years, American consumers have seen average gas prices rise from approximately $1.50 a gallon in 2003 to approximately $3.50 per gallon today. Crude oil that is produced in the U.S. should be used to lower prices here at home, not sent to the other side of the world.

The Brent is currently at ‘$126.53. US was at 130.53 on Sunday and currently at $121.98

You might want to find an article that isn’t almost a decade old.

Senator Menendez predicted the bullshit about removing the export ban was BULLSHIT... He was ABSOLUTELY correct as we are seeing right now...

What does it matter who wins? Power just flip flops back-and-forth and always has.

So ban exports and drive costs up? Domestically AND internationally?

You realize we export oil from, for instance, the Gulf TO Mexico because it’s cheaper than shipping it to the East Coast for refinement, correct?

If we were to ban those exports of crude products and instead require them to stay domestic - the final cost per barrel to the American consumer goes up. You understand that, correct?

There is no doubt it is going to hurt them. There are just way too many who don't understand that this is conscious choice on the part of the oil companies mixed with a world crisis. It's just a whole bunch easier to accept the BS that this has something to do with government than show some intellectual curiosity. Way easier to bobble your head when told something than look into the matter.Matters not though because it's going to hurt them facts be damned.

Businesses make profits.

That’s what they are designed to do.

Oil companies are not the government, they are businesses.

Government enacts regulations and taxes. Those regulations and taxes under this administration are in part responsible for the increased prices.

Thinking that corporations will slash profits while absorbing increased taxes and regulations is the mistake democrats consistently make.

This is a shining example of the backfire of democratic policies. And now every single one of us are literally paying for them.

What American oil producer in their right mind would sell oil product at lower than the world market price? When Trump put tariffs on imports of steel, what American steel producer didn't hike their prices to meet the market?

LMAO

well im not a democrat but the natural swing of things in recent history, basically my whole lifetime, the president's party loses seats. . . just how it goes so it will be no surprise to me

now with that said . . ANYBODY using gases prices as their barometer on how they vote or blaming gases prices on an American president is a batshit insane, tinfoil hat moron ignorant of how oil, gas and global economy work. I learned in high school that laying the blame of gas prices at the feet of a president is pure stupidity. But if these nutters REALLY exist I hope they say so because its nice to so easily and quickly identify people that dont know shit so they can be mocked and not taken serious by honest, educated, objective people right left and center LMAO

What’s your definition of a bloodbath? Today’s numbers, redistricting, 46 states have completed their redistricting, 4 more remaining. There are 391 newly drawn districts; 44 districts remain to be redrawn. Out of the 391 newly drawn districts, there are 37 competitive, switchable, at risk districts. Currently held by 25 Democrats and 12 Republicans. Safe seats as of today, 179 Democratic, 175 Republican.

The importance of safe seats is that they let you know how many seats from the competitive column and those districts yet to be drawn a party must win to gain control of the House. As of today, the democrats need 39 more seats to reach the magic number of 218. The Republicans need 43. It remains to be seen how many safe seats each of the 4 remaining states add to each party’s safe seat column. The 4 remaining states are New Hampshire, Florida, Louisiana and Missouri.

46 states aren’t 50, today isn’t election day. We have around 7 months to go. But the numbers give you something to work with, an idea of where things stand today. Today, no signs of a bloodbath or a red wave. The numbers certainly can and will change as time goes by. Their dynamic. If I were doing my forecast today, looking at just the at risk, competitive seats, the Republicans should pickup 6-8 seats, just enough to give them control of the House. No bloodbath though. The data is incomplete as we still have 4 states remaining who must draw their new maps. This is what the numbers show as of today. Not tomorrow and not 7 months from now, today.

Of course that means basically nationalizing the oil industry. Not just telling them they can't export it but also they must continue producing crude products and forcing them to ship them within the States for processing as well as telling them they must charge less. How long do you think the Government should take control of the oil industry? You do realize that's what you are suggesting don't you.

ETA Talk about government regulations!!!!

We banned exporting US crude for FORTY YEARS prior to Obama ending the ban in 2015.... The argument from the GOP was opening up the rest of the world market to our excess supply of crude oil at the time... What does excess supply do to the price?

You understand that, correct? Obama bought into the bullshit and here we are... YOU and I are now at the disposal of GLOBAL prices... You get that right?

I’m not the one suggesting it at all.

...regulations and taxes under this administration are in part responsible for the increased prices.

How much a part? Anything of significance? What is your evidence?

The graph and data you linked shows a rate of increased production under Obama that dipped twice, the most severe being the pandemic dip, then reestablished the rate of climb. What you did was prove increasing domestic oil production. Which is what in your head you thought your graph and data disproved. You continue debating subjects in RW alt-reality myth. It's funny. Besides the fact that increasing US oil production has not, historically, decreased prices at the pump. That's going from funny to hilarious.
