Complete bullshit.. Even California checks against motor vehicle records, birth registries, etc. and notifies the voter if it can't determine citizenship... The easiest and most reliable way to manage voter registration is make it a federal responsibility for federal elections. Aren't you a states rights supporter?

In counties or municipalities where people are taxed in a school district, flood control district, states like CA and NY allow local governments to choose to allow residents or property owners to vote in a local election, regardless of their immigration status. Neither state has a law allowing anything illegal in federal law.

There is no section in the constitution or federal law that prohibits permanent residents from voting in local elections. There is long history on the practice.
