Anyone going to watch this?

Fury is claiming that this is his last fight because he's got nothing left to prove. He's wrong of course, he needs to face the the winner of Joshua vs Usyk to unify the heavyweight championship. Then he would have nothing left to prove.

Yeh he’s definitely not ending on that note. He avoided saying he was definitely done as well.

Fight was meh i thought. Massive mismatch and really showed the gulf in class between the top tier heavyweights and the rest. Unreal uppercut though and he stadium looked like it was rocking.

What does something like this cost, PPV?

He did talk about his promise to his wife he wasn't coming back.

The uppercut was amazing but the rest of the fight was bland and the undercard was pretty weak all huge mismatches.

I dont know if he is really retiring but if this was his last fight, it wasnt a statement fight and really didnt say anything about him as a boxer. Whyte is a midlevel talent at best....and that fight was a payday.

I would agree that he doesnt have anything to 'prove'.

He still has something to prove if he wasn't to be considered one of the greatest. Beating Wilder twice isn't enough.

That would only matter if the competition he was fighting today is also the greatest competition. Its not. This is probably the second weakest era in boxing.

This is one of the best era for heavyweights. Not as good as the 70s but it's almost on par with the 90s

MMA Fighting has tonight’s fight 78-74 Bivol
with 4 rounds to go.
VSIN has two rounds to go and Canelo’s face trashed.

Esparza wins split decision.
@Crovax
Bivol dominated; Canelo up in weight;
Now the big one

Bivol was very impressive. I wold have been upset if I were him. He was the champion and they made him walk 1st

Canelo is a great fighter, but his weakness was exposed. He is so strong for his weight class that he normally doesn't have to think about how to deal with someone who can outbox him and also withstand his crushing blows. Canelo doesn't really do head movement the way a fighter could. He gets away with it when fighting in lower weigh classes, but against naturally bigger, longer-armed boxers, his flaw is exposed.

I don't know that a weakness was exposed so much as Bivol just out boxed him. Who else is there that could take advantage of this alleged weakness? Bivol beat him decisively, even though the score card made it look close. Speaking of which what was with that score? They had Canelo taking the first 4 rounds. No way! I think they were doing their best to try to steal this fight from Bivol.

Fury is amazing. He can box. He can bully. He can fight at distance or inside. He moves so well for a giant man. The fight with Whyte was boring because Whyte is slow. Who could actually make a fight out of it with Fury? I think a fight with Joshua would go much the same as the one with Whyte. Usyk? I just don't see it.

In lower weight classes, Canelo can get away with a lack of head movement. He can take a punch. He moves in. He seeks. He destroys. He's a power puncher who knows how to box to set up his kill shots. But Bivol is a beautiful boxer who's heavy enough to stun Canelo, who had no answer.

Plus he is undefeated.

I disagree. I think there is a decent cadre of good boxers.

Well...we have Usyk being the winner so this will be interesting. Usyk is a smarter boxer and one of the things that makes Fury good isn't just his boxing skills but his boxing IQ. However, Usyk is mall for heavyweight and Fury is a monster for heavyweight.

Hopefully they can make that happen and it's a good fight. Even though Josua lost I'd still like to see a Joshua v Fury fight too.

Yeah I think boxing has made a comeback. There was a time when I was all UFC/MMA and didn't watch boxing. But the money went out of boxing and suddenly it became a great sport again - and MMA started to suck for the reasons that boxing sucked for so many years.

It's hard to assess where Gypsy King stands among the greats. He's so massive that he almost belongs in his own weight class, but he is a solid boxer. He's got amazing agility for someone so large. The knock against really large fighters is that even though they have natural power most of the time, they're often a stationary target, easy to hit. But not so with Tyson Fury. He's got a strong jab, and while he doesn't really possess the kind of awesome one-punch power that some of the most feared hitters in history have, he's proven that if he times it just right, he can hurt a man.

He won the first one they fight again July 23rd.

What I want to see is Deontay Wilder fight a top contender. I think his major weakness has been exposed by Fury. I would like to see if another fighter can take advantage of Wilder's inability to fight an opponent who presses forward on him. I think a boxer like Andy Ruiz would give him a big problem.
