America also undermined contracts with EU companies with overseas bids to help US companies win contracts VIA the NSA .... we have Edward Snowden to thank for this .... Trump and America are showing that they are bullies and they are undermining competition .... America is no friend or Ally of Europe and only now Germany and the EU are starting to realise this ... and if America is undermining the EU what is the point of NATO membership.

SPUTNIK = Propaganda arm of the Russian government....

And "undermining competition"?

Really?

This IS competition.

And business =/= defense.

To wit: Nothing has been hijacked by anyone, Siemens and Iraq today signed a letter of intent on the deal. Similar to the one that GE signed some days ago and this does not equate to the contract as yet having been given to either.

There's a strong likelihood of both Siemens and GE getting to share the cake.

As to the asinine claim of fury reigning in Germany, apart from shareholders and, of course, Siemens employees, nobody in Germany could give a flying fig.

NATO membership being under question is the most asinine claim of the day.

Yet another troll fail.

Well, the point of NATO has been historically established:

- The West's 12 under-equipped divisions faced 25 fully-armored Soviet divisions in Central Europe, but since the West was also under the umbrella of the U.S. atomic bomb, this mattered little to the West. The Soviet counter to the U.S. atomic bomb was to maintain this conventional force and rush Western Europe, thereby nullifying atomic use.

- Since military purpose was not the key, it came down to the idea of neutrality. With the Marshall Plan reviving Western Europe into a capitalist and democratic partner, NATO was a military tool to further pull those governments into the ideological crusade of "east vs. west." It strengthened political ties and influence over Europe through the common military institution. Senator Tom Connally (D) declared this quite explicitly when he stated that "the Atlantic Pact is but the logical extension of the principle of the Monroe Doctrine."

Currently, the U.S. is in an era where Trump has absolutely no idea what he is doing and one might want consider that the U.S. in a temporary time out until people who read books and care about "edubacation" matter again.

I don't need Sputnik to tell me this is true, take one multi billion dollar deal add America First sauce you have your hijacking.

Nothing read, nothing understood.

No reason to NOT prattle on anyway.
