It happened to me and my mom the same week. A man who sat one row in front of us on the Canadian Rockies Tauck tour bus said later he tested positive, so Mom thinks she got it from him. We will never know exactly, of course, because the virus could have been in anyone's nose. After the trip, Mom had constant nasal discharge, body aches, fatigue, and loss of appetite for days. While she got slightly better, I got slightly worse. Now, we both have that "sick but not sick" feeling, where only sleep and our favorite beverages sound like good ideas. She keeps telling me I do not have a severe case and hers is worse than mine, but it seems to be lasting much longer in my body. Something I keep wondering about is if our symptom differences could be age-related.

Something else it makes me think about now is the fact I am still too young for the next booster shot. The FDA needs to speed this up.

Hope you feel better soon, glad you were vaccinated.

Hope you get better soon. This too shall pass. :)

It effects people in different ways, so I hear. While you might feel worse, your mom might have more going on inside.

Use it to binge all your favorite movies.

Yes it does happen. I read somewhere that catching it (to the standard of a positive test) is three times less likely if you're vaccinated, but it's still a chance.

Did you have a booster?

EDIT: My own mom had it, but despite sitting across the table for a game of Scrabble I didn't catch it. That was when she had symptoms, though, not tested positive. I should have paid more attention to her symptoms, but she often has colds so I didn't.

You can be vaccinated and still get sick, but you are much less likely to get seriously sick.

Get well soon and try to pass the time!

Covid vaccinations don't prevent you from getting infected, they train your body to effectively fight it and radically reduce the chance you get hospitalized. My wife and I are both vaxxed and boosted and we still had it for nearly two weeks, but only a day or two of real symptoms.

People have been saying that a lot, but how bad do they consider "seriously sick" now?

One day I had a headache and threw up. Another I had abdominal pain and diarrhea. Often I had a stuffy nose off and on, but I never had nasal discharge. Eve3ry day I Have fatigue and almost no appetite.

No, but they do reduce the chance of getting infected. By 5 times, for the Delta variant.

That is the greatest benefit, individually, in being vaccinated. But reducing infections (even by a bit) helps keep covid out of nursing homes where there are still people who are at risk despite vaccinations and boosters. As well as being an individual benefit (eg no days off work).

I’m not vaccinated so no worries there later about unintended consequences. I’m sure I’ve had it but have never taken a Covid test. And we’re both here this morning. I think I have the better hand. And raise fiddy

Covid is here to stay and we're all going to get it eventually, vaccinated or not. I hope you feel better soon though.

I've had it twice now and had very different symptoms each time. The first time was lots of sinus congestion and sneezing and I completely lost my sense of smell for about a week. The second time was a lot of fatigue and coughing, but minimal congestion and I never lost my sense of smell.

Yeah, for me it is mostly fatigue, nasal congestion, and coughing . . . but it seems to go on forever. And yesterday my voice changed like it does with the common cold.

I can only reiterate about the time I got covid while rehabbing a foot injury previous to the covid vaccine rollout. My only symptoms were a three-day mild temperature followed by a loss of taste and smell for one evening. Four others in the same covid ward never made it out alive. And they were all younger than me (today I'm 64). - One thing is for certain, covid is as unpredictable as the next lightning strike, and to date, should be taken seriously. So far, I've a couple weeks beyond my first booster, and by Sept 1st, will be heading in for the second or one better suited for the next variant. - I still wear a mask in public places as well utilize other precautionary measures. Haven't had a cold, flu, or allergy for 3 years. - Hope you get well soon.

You believe vaccines pose more of a risk than covid does.

No wonder your sig says not to rely on 3rd parties. You don't need knowledge at all!

You didn't take a test even when you thought you had covid. Because you don't need knowledge at all ...

Why take the test? I do what I always do when I get the flu.

Which is stay home from work? Avoid others in your household? If you absolutely have to go out, wear a mask?

I was found positive in February two years ago when the Company I was driving dumps for tested all the drivers and mechanics. 5 drivers and 17 mechanics had tested positive. I had no symptoms other than a scratchy throat. I posted about this back then.

Then the wife and I got it last year and it was kinda rough for the first 4-5 days for her. I had aches and pains that went away in a couple days but I lost some sense of taste and smell.

Last month I caught the BA.5 variant from the wife for my third episode. The wife had the fever, aches, congestion, dizziness and nasty intestinal problems for about 5 days while I had body aches, congestion, and coughing fits during the night. I tested negative 8 days later, but I have remaining symptoms of severe fatigue that come on out of no where's and last for about 15-20 minutes. My legs still feel shaky at times as well.

I'm done with the boosters.........................no more until I see that they actually work. The death rates among the fully vaccinated and boosted continue to grow.

I'm lucky enough to have a occupation(s) where I can still get things done at work without being close to other people. I even took on a large metal trashout job last month. It was kinda weird keeping about a 100' away from my hired crew and giving details about what I wanted done over my cell phone while staring at the people I was talking to. ;)

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Because he's not a complete bastard and actually cares about the health of others?

I've been double vaxed and boosted but still got Covid and I stayed off work and didn't leave the house. I don't want to risk people with weakened imune systems becoming sick because I selfishly still go about my normal business.
