He should be levying his lamentations and invective at Mexico's legislature and other government officials, not the US'.

Then he "got in bed" with the Russians and told us he "stayed away" when nothing could have been further from the truth. Now it's....

"Turkey has very strongly informed me that he will eradicate whatever is left of ISIS in Syria"

Yet Turkey, AFAIK, Turkey has no more corroborated that claim than has Mexico asserted it'd pay for Trump's wall.

Trump's lies will be considered irrelevant by his loyal base till hell freezes over. Not sure that amounts to "working" for him. Your mileage may vary.

But for those outside of his loyal base, MOST OF US for those that have not figured that out yet, he is piling up too many lies to too many different constituencies and he has gone from the sorts of lies that could be fit under the heading of the sublime to the full on outrageous.

Telling troopers in the field that he was responsible for a 10% pay hike when they know their pay hick was 2.9% sort of speaks to that. Telling the entire country that the middle class would get a 10% tax reduction to be voted just before the mid-terms speaks to that. Both were outrageous lies, both easy to fact check for every American and both insulting large constituents of Americans.

I find lying to troopers in the field entirely and completely despicable and one of those "high crimes and misdemeanors" issues that would not help him to fight off either Impeachment in the House, Removal by the Senate or the outrage of voters in the next election.

Listen carefully. When Trump says something outrageous, some lie that is easily debunked, it is because there is something else he doesn't want you to hear. During the campaign, he said something outrageous every week. That prevented you from hearing what any other GOP candidate had to say.

No, you've not explicitly claimed the Trump comments "Wheel" noted aren't lies, but for each lie you've (1) offered a tu quoque, "whataboutist," or other deflective line that exculpates and/or discounts the significance of the behavior giving rise to the lie, and (2) disregarded (a) the lie itself, (b) the fact that Trump lied about acting in ways he felt obliged to lie, (b) lied about things whereof it is absurd to lie and/or (c) the fact that the reason people utter "unforced" lies is to hide the truth from or mislead others.

Nobody minced Trump's words to impugn him. Trump, unbidden/unprompted, remarked untruthfully about the pay raises the military have received. The issue is Trump, for reasons recondite, paltered about history, yet, as CIC, he knew he'd done so.

Whether Comey should or shouldn't have been fired isn't the point. The point is firing him wholly or in part to abate, slow, hinder, etc. a federal investigation is not a lawful reason for doing so, for such constitutes mens rea to obstruction of justice. A POTUS may not fire anyone in order to obstruct justice.

Trump could have cited myriad acts that do require an ID to illustrate his point re: requiring ID to vote, or "Mr. I Have the Best Words" could've included verbiage or inflection to indicate he was merely using a literary device. He did neither, thus he lied about reality as part of his case for a policy stance he holds.

Trump may be under the influence of Satan but at least he favored policies friendly towards Christians and conservatives and Hillary did not. There is the reason I voted for Trump instead of Hillary.
