From Trump we've heard it all before, all his lies & sweet talk, but his lies ain't working now...

First it was Mexico's gonna pay:

"It’s realistic [to expect Mexico will pay for the wall] if you know something about the art of negotiating. If you have a bunch of clowns negotiating, it’s not realistic."
-- Donald Trump, July 2015

Yet Trump's trying to get US taxpayers to pay for the wall. He's been berating one American after another over not being given money to build the wall. Mexico was going to pay, according to Trump. He should be levying his lamentations and invective at Mexico's legislature and other government officials, not the US'.

Then he "got in bed" with the Russians and told us he "stayed away" when nothing could have been further from the truth. Now it's....

"Turkey has very strongly informed me that he will eradicate whatever is left of ISIS in Syria"
-- Donald Trump, Dec 2018

Yet Turkey, AFAIK, Turkey has no more corroborated that claim than has Mexico asserted it'd pay for Trump's wall.

The US played the fool before and elected Trump's lying ass. And to his credit, he talks a good game, but enough...his lies ain't workin' now....time to kick him out of the WH and change the locks.

Don't lie to me - don't you lie to me
'cause it makes me mad and I get evil as a man can be.

Lies have a reckoning. Only 8 more days until the new House is sworn in.

Perfect for him:

https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/tool/eulogy.html

Oh...right...there's profanity.

FWIW, this was written with express reference to him....

...unlike the lyrics in the OP's video, which are personal-relationship lyrics I applied to Trump, these are lyrics remarking on Trump's relationship, as POTUS, to the people of the US and the rest of the world that could be applied to a personal relationship.

Hillary alienated the "deplorables" and got her bottom spanked. Sadly, she and her deluded democrat followers did not learn a thing.

Do you have something to say about the actual thread topic: Trump has before uttered specious assertions about what other nations will do and now he's uttered a claim about what Turkey will do, and as with his previous claims, there's no corroboration coming from the head of state about which Trump made the claim?
  • If you do, share it.
  • If instead, you want to talk about Hillary (or anyone else), create your own thread to do so or post your remarks in an extant Hillary thread.

While I'm on the song thing, this is from a band from my hometown of Tacoma WA. I have a friend wh o got arrested once, sang this in the back of the cop car (during the Dubya years), and LITERALLY got a visit from the Secret Service two weeks later. Great band tho!

In other words, I'm allowed to distract if I want to. If you're talking about something I don't want you to talk about, I can interject something totally unrelated to derail the conversation.

This is right out of the Trump playbook. He has used it his entire adult life, particularly during his political career, such as it is.

We are currently in a government shutdown because Trump does not want us talking about the Trump Foundation shutdown. He doesn't want us talking about Mueller or Cohen or Manafort or Trump Jr. or the upcoming Democrat takeover of the House.

He wants us talking about his wall, his magnificent wall, and how the Democrats are killing Americans by not funding the beautiful wall.

Trump talks about things he seems important and leftist spokespeople talk about what is important to them. I listen to both sides and form my own opinions.

Trump's lies will be considered irrelevant by his loyal base till hell freezes over. Not sure that amounts to "working" for him. Your mileage may vary.

But for those outside of his loyal base, MOST OF US for those that have not figured that out yet, he is piling up too many lies to too many different constituencies and he has gone from the sorts of lies that could be fit under the heading of the sublime to the full on outrageous.

Telling troopers in the field that he was responsible for a 10% pay hike when they know their pay hick was 2.9% sort of speaks to that. Telling the entire country that the middle class would get a 10% tax reduction to be voted just before the mid-terms speaks to that. Both were outrageous lies, both easy to fact check for every American and both insulting large constituents of Americans.

I find lying to troopers in the field entirely and completely despicable and one of those "high crimes and misdemeanors" issues that would not help him to fight off either Impeachment in the House, Removal by the Senate or the outrage of voters in the next election.

Did you form an opinion when he claimed he didn't know anything about payments to the porn actress?

Did you form an opinion when Trump declared he would proudly shut down the government and would not "blame Democrats"?

Did you form an opinion when Trump told the troops that they had not received a pay raise in more than 10 years?

Did you form an opinion when Trump said he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation?

How about when he said you need I.D. to buy a box of cereal?

Listen carefully. When Trump says something outrageous, some lie that is easily debunked, it is because there is something else he doesn't want you to hear. During the campaign, he said something outrageous every week. That prevented you from hearing what any other GOP candidate had to say.

I have heard many prominent politicians weasel and waffle about their secret sexual sins, from JFK to Donald Trump. I am not interested in those kinds of things. I have come to expect those sort of things from men who do not walk with God.

Did you form an opinion when Trump declared he would proudly shut down the government and would not "blame Democrats"?

Democrats and republicans have been responsible for failing to fund the government in time to avoid a shutdown multiple times in history. This is no different. If democrats and republicans cannot work together then this is what you get. It takes two sides to either fight or get along.

Did you form an opinion when Trump told the troops that they had not received a pay raise in more than 10 years?

Our troops got one of the biggest raises in years during Trump's presidency. I am not concerned about leftist opposition mincing words to make Trump look bad.

Did you form an opinion when Trump said he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation?

Comey should have been fired. So should have Strzok, Rosenstein, Mueller, and dozens of others. I don't care why men claim Trump did it. He did the right thing.

How about when he said you need I.D. to buy a box of cereal?

People need an ID for all sorts of things, even when showing up at organized democrat protests. But democrats do not want voters to start having to show IDs to register and vote because that will put a serious damper on voter fraud.

Listen carefully. When Trump says something outrageous, some lie that is easily debunked, it is because there is something else he doesn't want you to hear. During the campaign, he said something outrageous every week. That prevented you from hearing what any other GOP candidate had to say.

I heard other candidates. I liked Cruz but the devil and his crowd of barbarian degenerates hated Cruz. Go figger.

I have said before that I do not believe Trump is saved and civilized, although he wisely fashions his appeals to those who are.

Satan does not generally pander to Christians when his man gets elected president. Maybe Trump is different. I'm glad he panders to Christians for whatever reason. Hillary would have never done that and Obama certainly never did that.

But it is somewhat amusing watching Trump supporters contort themselves into logical pretzels explaining how lies are not really lies. Alternative facts? Truthful hyperbole? Trumpanese?
The behavior Son notes, Marke, is essentially the behavior you've shown in responding to Wheel. No, you've not explicitly claimed the Trump comments "Wheel" noted aren't lies, but for each lie you've (1) offered a tu quoque, "whataboutist," or other deflective line that exculpates and/or discounts the significance of the behavior giving rise to the lie, and (2) disregarded (a) the lie itself, (b) the fact that Trump lied about acting in ways he felt obliged to lie, (b) lied about things whereof it is absurd to lie and/or (c) the fact that the reason people utter "unforced" lies is to hide the truth from or mislead others.

Did you form an opinion [DYFO] when he claimed he [knew nothing] about payments to the porn actress?
I have heard many prominent politicians weasel and waffle about their secret sexual sins, from JFK to Donald Trump. I am not interested in those kinds of things. I have come to expect those sort of things from men who do not walk with God.
The problem isn't that he had adulterous affairs/assignations. The problem is that he lied about them and matters pertaining to them when directly asked about them.

DYFO when Trump declared he would proudly shutdown the government and...not "blame Democrats"?
Democrats and republicans have been responsible for failing to fund the government in time to avoid a shutdown multiple times in history. This is no different. If democrats and republicans cannot work together then this is what you get. It takes two sides to either fight or get along.
The problem is that Trump declared what he'd do -- taking blame for a shutdown and not blaming Democrats for a shutdown -- should a shutdown occur. Nobody forced or asked Trump to say that. He, and only he, controls whether he "owns" the shutdown's extancy or doesn't.

DYFO when Trump told the troops that they had not received a pay raise in more than 10 years?
Our troops got one of the biggest raises in years during Trump's presidency. I am not concerned about leftist opposition mincing words to make Trump look bad.
Nobody minced Trump's words to impugn him. Trump, unbidden/unprompted, remarked untruthfully about the pay raises the military have received. The issue is Trump, for reasons recondite, paltered about history, yet, as CIC, he knew he'd done so.

DYFO when Trump said he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation?
Comey should have been fired. So should have Strzok, Rosenstein, Mueller, and dozens of others. I don't care why men claim Trump did it. He did the right thing.
Trump stated why he fired Comey to attenuate the pressure the Russia investigation was creating:
I just fired the head of the F.B.I....I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.
-- Donald Trump
Whether Comey should or shouldn't have been fired isn't the point. The point is firing him wholly or in part to abate, slow, hinder, etc. a federal investigation is not a lawful reason for doing so, for such constitutes mens rea to obstruction of justice. A POTUS may not fire anyone in order to obstruct justice.

DYFO when he said you need I.D. to buy a box of cereal?
People need an ID for all sorts of things, even when showing up at organized democrat protests. But democrats do not want voters to start having to show IDs to register and vote because that will put a serious damper on voter fraud.
Trump could have cited myriad acts that do require an ID to illustrate his point re: requiring ID to vote, or "Mr. I Have the Best Words" could've included verbiage or inflection to indicate he was merely using a literary device. He did neither, thus he lied about reality as part of his case for a policy stance he holds.

Go figger.
Red: That's non-sequitur to "Wheel's" remarks to which it's a reply.

When fols lie, they're hiding something, and Trump's lying frequency indicates he's hiding a lot. I distrust folks who readily and often lie about things great and small. Do you trust them?

Trump may be under the influence of Satan but at least he favored policies friendly towards Christians and conservatives and Hillary did not. There is the reason I voted for Trump instead of Hillary.
