~ A group of "well-trained" Russian hooligans were behind the violence in Marseille when Russia played England in a Euro 2016 match, prosecutors say. The 150 Russian football supporters "were well prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action" and were able to evade arrest, a city prosecutor said.

Link.

Now they've been identified, let's see them caught and prosecuted as soon as possible please.

As most of them are probably back in Russia, proscecution is highly unlikely.

As I mentioned in the sports thread, they're definitely a notch up from your 'run of the mill' football hooligan.

All Russia does it cheat. They are the joke of competitive sports.

And then there was this..

Six england fans jailed for euro 2016-related violence in marseille | Daily Mail Online

Should be more imo, as it was the English fans that started it all 2 days before the game...Had the police gone in and arrested English fans for drunkenness, then I suspect a lot of the violence could have been avoided....The provocations of a few English fans and violence was all these Russian pigs needed. But funny how the media are now focusing fully on the Russians and almost ignoring the English.

I hope to god they find the Russians who have kicked the English fan to near death. I have read that he is now mentally handicapped because of it.. disgusting.

I think going out there with MMA gloves etc shows a little more intention than just being drunk and boisterous. I doubt the 150 "specialists" were sitting waiting for the match until a few drunk Brits turned up.

Super hooligans if you will.

Did they look this?

Did they see they were there for some good old ultra-violence?

I am talking about 2 days before the match when the first reports came out and I was mocked by certain people on these boards for pointing out a problem... where English fans on these boards tried to downplay "banter among a few drunk Englishmen" as nothing, when the pictures clearly show something else.. and no there was no Russians involved then.

Now what the Russian ultras did has no business in sports anywhere (or society), but lets not try to ignore the problems the English fans created as well please... nor the local French hooligans either. Focusing so much on the Russians, totally ignores the similar problems within our own ranks (aka French and English) and that is just wrong.

I'm not downplaying anything - I'm comparing one set of violent thugs who turn up against another group of violent thugs who turn up wearing various fighting kit.

Don't try and make out I'm ignoring the problems caused by England fans but when you have pics of them being the first stomping Russian heads or wearing MMA gloves etc then we can talk.

Baring the Russians from further participation would be a good measure that would not be forgotten.

Said on another thread the next match would give us a bigger clue to who the perps are. If there's trouble at either Russia or England's next match against other teams we'll know better.

Igor Lebedev, a Russian Football Union (RFU) official and MP from the populist Liberal Democratic party, tweeted that there was "nothing wrong with fans fighting". He told them to "keep up the good work". BBC Link.

a new breed of Russian hooligan - younger, fitter and more sober than his English counterpart.

"Now many people are boxers or into mixed martial arts, and Russian hooligans often follow a very healthy way of life, avoiding alcohol which used to be part of the subculture," explains journalist Andrei Malosolov, co-founder of Russia's Fans' Union.

"The lads defended the honour of their country," Russian media quoted MP Igor Lebedev, who is also on the executive committee of the Football Union. Link 2.

Roll on Russia World Cup where these guys will be freely roaming the streets and are used to brawling inside football stadiums. The reactions and egging on from quoted Russian personalities is eye opening.

so the question is if they're all kgb or if putin himself trained them

The French have stopped a bus with 50 Russians in it, and are deporting them all.. women and children included.. Kinda an overreaction imo. No women or children were involved in the violence so why deport them?

A senior Russian police official has claimed his French counterparts were unable to handle Russia’s “normal” football fans in Marseille this weekend because they are more used to policing “gay pride parades”.

Vladimir Markin, a spokesman for Russia’s equivalent of the FBI, made the comment on his verified Twitter account.

'French police more used to gay pride marches' - Football365

It reads like parody at this point.

Alexander Shprygin arrived in Marseilles with the Russian EURO 2016 fan contingent accompanied by a number of titushki (paid thugs). He is a Russian über-nationalist (fascist). Shprygin also works as an assistant to the politician Igor Lebedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s parliament, who also attracted controversy for a series of tweets on Sunday in which he offered support to the Russian fans. “I don’t see anything wrong with the fans fighting,” he wrote. “Quite the opposite, well done lads, keep it up!”

Pathetic. How about you'd provide the full image and the 2010 context in which it was taken, instead of mindlessly spreading fakes generated by your obsession with Putin.

Euro 2016: Russia rolls back support of violence as deportation process begins

Not even Putin's official Kremlin apologist (Dmitry Peskov) could publicly support the twisted tweets of Shprygin's boss Igor Lebedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s parliament.

So instead of actually standing by your previous post, you completely ignore it and post more stuff... lol.
Reminds me of the famous meme "Don't think about it, just keep spreading it", no attempts at discussion or logic, no integrity ... just a constant stream of bs in a desperate hope that at least some of it is gonna stick.

Lebedev is quoted in the BBC as is his twitter where he congratulates the hooligans, Shprygin has also linked from his twitter on the BBC story of the hooligans being deported after being held at Cannes.

Are you saying Simplexity is wrong about these two and what they said which means the twitter accounts are fake or is there some other reason you are claiming what Simplexity is saying is BS?

My original comment was on Simplexity's attempt to link the LDPR Shrpygin to Putin by using a cut out of a photo without context, hence my original comment:
