Freddie Gray verdict: Baltimore officer who drove van not guilty on all charges - CNN.com

(CNN)Baltimore police officer Caesar Goodson, who drove the van in which Freddie Gray was fatally injured, was found not guilty Thursday on all charges, including the most serious count of second-degree depraved-heart murder.

Wearing a dark suit and blue shirt, Goodson stood motionless as the verdict was read.
The officer's daughter wept as the judge enumerated the reasons for the acquittal, count by count, over 40 minutes. Then Goodson embraced members of his family and legal team.

This is not going to go over very well.

Because BLM assholes don't respect the law.

It was ridiculous overcharging, in the heat of the moment. Obviously SOMETHING happened while in custody, but had she waited a bit and charged down to negligent homicide or something similar, the results might well have been different.

Mosby is now 0 for 3 in her politically charged prosecutions.

Who paid his legal fees, I wonder. Is he shielded from civil suit? I'm guessing the law is lagging in these areas. This guy nay not be out of the frying pan yet.

If you mean the cop the tax payers are paying his fees.

Freddie Gray's autopsy report confirmed what his fellow passenger said happened; Gray was placed on his stomach in the van and told to lie still, he stood up during the van ride and was acting erratically, which caused him to sustain injury. The witness in the van did later recant his version, as it was very bad for his health to not support the story that the rioters wanted told.

I don't see any point of a wrongful death suit.

I believe they were morally responsible for his death based on what I've read, but I'm willing accept that this might not be legally provable in this case. Thats just how our Justice system works and how it should work.

Freddie gay violating his probation, and smacking his own head against the floor/wall somehow makes the police responsible?

Here is a list of poor Freedie's priors.

Because the police have to protect people from their own stupidity, of course.

I'm utterly uninterested in his criminal history. It isn't relevant.

All this proves is Freddie was a druggy, not a violent criminal. He didn't deserve to die in police custody. Tragic case. Tough case to prove, however.

It is absolutely and completely relevant. If it hadn't been for that criminal history, he wouldn't have found himself in the back of that van. He brought it on himself.

How many more ways can they drum up charges til they finally find someone they can throw under the bus enough to appease?

Does it ever? The black community's idea of justice is a guilty verdict for whites irrelevant to the facts. Let Baltimore burn down it deserves it at this point.

Vile, racist, and undertones of victimhood. Congrats on crafting a singularly terrible post.

No, try absolutely true. If you want racist, try looking no further than the scummy liberal side.

When unarmed people stop dying mysteriously while in police custody, I guess they'll be no more need.

There's nothing mysterious about it. He was an idiot for his criminal history, he was an idiot for violating his parole, he was an idiot for ignoring what the police told him to do and he harmed himself because of it.

Liberals aren't that bright, are they?

You're actually choosing to defend that? Just show that the "black community" wants "whites" to be found guilty, or whatever. It's really too stupid to even paraphrase.
