Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

I've heard that stuff before. But yes, it is freaky. The only difference I can point out, though, is that Lincoln was a Republican and Kennedy was a Democrat.

In fact from 1840 the president current presedent every 20 years has died with William Harrison (elected 1840) who died in office. Next Lincoln died, he was elected in 1860, Garfield died in office (elected 1880), William William McKinley (elected 1900), Warren Harding (elected 1920), FDR who was president in 1940. Then Kennidy who was elected in 1960. Reagon was the first not to die that was elected in the 20 year cycle (1980), but he was shot. The next is Bush, what will happen to him...

The SS today is too skilled to allow such an attack. Even though that grenade was thrown at Bush in that one country. Thank God it didn't blow up.

Yes, The Secret Service (watch yourself, you might get someone to thinking the wrong "SS") is very skilled. But I seriously doubt they could stop a group of people who REALLY wanted to kill the President. Terrorists will find a way, if they truely wanted to.

Two problems

Lincoln's "republican" party stood more like the democrats of today, whereas the whig party of that day was more the republican of today. There has been a complete role reversal.

Booth was killed by government troops after being cornered in a barn. Harvey Oswald was killed by Jack Ruby, a bar owner with ties to the mob.

Jefferson's Democrat-Republicans split in early 1828 to the Democrat Party and the National Republican Party.

The Democrats Party has remained intact since 1828

The Nat. Republicans 1828-1832 then transitioned themselves into the Whigs 1836-1852, and their ideology alligned itself with the old Hamilton Federalist Party...they eventually became the Republican Party 1856-? that we know today.

Lincoln's "Republican" Party is the Republican Party.

All parties today are shifting to the left, but that is a different story.

Do you really think the US is shifting to the left? We have the reputation of being one of the most conservative of the industrialized nations. If not the most conservative.

Yes...

There is an obvious conservative element in the US.

I just see a shifting of the whole spectrum towards the left. The Bush/Clinton family love-fest is more than just an accident...
