Evangelist Franklin Graham said during a recent interview that President Trump has “misspoken” at times in the past but defended him from accusations the president lies.

During an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, news anchor Craig Melvin pressed Graham on a recent op-ed for Fox News he penned in which he wrote that the “truth is 100 percent right." The MSNBC host questioned how Graham reconciles that belief with his support of Trump, who Melvin said has made over 8,000 false or misleading claims in his first two years in office according to The Washington Post.

Poor Franklin Graham appears to be in denial about Trump not telling the truth 'over 8,000' times since he's been in office. He's only 'misspoken' that many times apparently.

Perhaps Graham "misspoke" about that...

So he didn't lie and intentionally mislead close to 9,000 times, but instead "misspoke" often in complete contradiction of the remaining tatters of consensus reality?

Great. The he's not malevolently dishonest, he's just a ****ing dumbass defense.

I really wonder how a country can survive like this.

Not just a difference in opinion, not just a difference in thinking on way problems should be solved, but a total disconnection from reality, that’s where Trump and Trump country reside.

How a country can continue to function in the long term with roughly 33% of the population living in a fabrication of their own making, I don’t know.

I see some parallels here with the thinking of the German people during the rise of National Socialism in the early & mid-1930s. They are tuned in to a different plane of reality.

I saw that today. If there was a god, a lightning bolt would have come down and struck old franklin. I love watching these folks twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend trump.

I just heard a pundit yet again today, mention Trump's, "tenuous relationship with the truth". I can understand using euphemisms like that for the first full year, but it's been over two now. At what point do they stop using euphemisms? How many years do we have to listen to reporters watered down description of his lying? If it's not a question of time, is there a magic number reached like 10K before reporters start calling it like it is. He doesn't have a "tenuous relationship with the truth", he's a liar.

Did you hear him today lying about the reporting on his intelligence chiefs contradicting him? He called it fake news. He's literally telling everyone not to believe their own eyes and ears, just listen to what I say.

I think he might be getting too close to suffering a nervous breakdown. As he slowly looses touch with reality, will reporters start using euphemisms like, "he seems to have a, "tenuous relationship with reality"? And for how long? After a year of watching him slide further into a world of his own making, will they get down to brass tacks and start calling it like it is? He doesn't have a tenuous relationship with reality, he's a nutjob...
