Why is France a basket case? Found it!

I've said for years that social liberalism is unsustainable. No one listened. Enjoy your Macron/Rothschild president. You deserve him France.

Your argument is specious. Quality of life is derived from a number of facets, and tax rates can fluctuate.

You really are obsessed with the Rothshilds, very curious.

Also, social liberalism? The problems of France have been a long time coming and the Macron government may not be helping it but that comes largely because the French are unwilling to fix their own problems. You can have any government left right and even front national and it would not solve a bloody thing because the French are entitled cry babies when it comes to some things. That is the reason why they strike so much, why change cannot take place in France, why unions have so much power, why politicians are such cowards. They do not want change to keep the system working again, they want to gain everything and give up nothing in return.

That is the problem of France IMO.

Then you don't know much about Macron.

Right, and this is a problem with almost 60 years in the making, when Charles De Gaulle began ushering in Algerians, Moroccans and Tunisians, under the guise of temporary employment. They simply never left, became a burden to France, never assimilated, and began receiving social benefits eventually. They were followed by sub Saharan Africans, who did the same. Now France has no clue who lives amongst them, with census records not counting some vital attributes. As always, those who work are punished, with nearly 50% of their gross wages being siphoned off by tax collectors to pay for the whole mismanaged experiment. Each French President ends up resented by the people, with Sarkozy still under investigation for his greedy nose which smelled money in Libya, to Holland's $10k haircuts, to Macron going from hero to zero in 1 year's time - a new record.

Today, Macron is talking about slashing unemployment benefits. France's labor unions may bring certain problems to the situation, but at least France still has labor unions to speak of. In the USA, labor unions have gone away for the most part, as Democrats abandoned them in favor of the same corrupt relationship with corporations that Republicans have always had. These money grubbing wankers are the great 'centrists' we hear so much about, and they're the same here as in France.
