BBC Sport - Football - World Cup 2010: France boycott training over Anelka row

France's players refused to train on Sunday following Nicolas Anelka's expulsion from the squad for verbally abusing coach Raymond Domenech.

Domenech read out a statement from his squad which said: "The French Football Federation did not at any time try to protect the group.

"To show our opposition to the decision taken [on Anelka], all the players decided not to take part in training."

The French Football Federation's managing director subsequently quit.

This is Bafana Bafana's best chance. As long as Either Urugauy or Mexico will take a win... and bafana bafana can crush this disarrayed side, then we might get through. The only worry of course is if Uruguay and Mexico take a draw for eachother, that will leave us a point short...

I thought France had a shot of making the round of 16 somewhere around the same percentage as New Zealand and North Korea.

It was funny listening to the BBC this morning with one of their reporters describing the Domenech speech almost as though he were a hostage being forced to read something he didn't agree with.

France... ROTFLOL...

Guenther Netzer said he's never seen anything like it in all his years of Fussball.
The team farked up.

I recall Anelka having other problems, but can't recall exactly what...
Anyone...?
